Why didn't the democrats just put the 30 million uninsured (and I'm not certain that is an accurate number) into medicaid instead of throwing a nation of 350 million people into chaos? I don't understand it.

There was no visible means of extorting profits from the taxpayers using Medicaid.

No profits for big insurance means no campaign cash.

You raise a great question:

Why not use a single-payer option, like Medicare or Medicaid instead of the cluster-fuck that is The Affordable Care Act?
:dunno:

....
46 million.

Census Bureau:

"The percentage of people without health insurance in 2009 was not statistically different from 2007 at 15.4 percent.

The number of uninsured increased to 46.3 million in 2009, from 45.7 million in 2007.
"

Highlights: 2009 - U.S Census Bureau

When you allow the defense industry to write it's own ticket, you get a Military Industrial Complex that spends 10 times what the rest of the planet combined spends on defense; when you let the Medical Industrial Complex write their own ticket in one Act, you get ObamaCare.
 True Story!

Are we ever going to remove from our politicians the power to customize tax obligations for industry and interests that they deem 'special'?

Are we ever going to remove from our politicians the power to spend money that they are unwilling to collect from their current constituents?

Fair and simple taxes / public budgets that are balanced by law. The Stars await, Monkeys.

I agree, We need to cut the defense spending to only what it takes to defend OUR borders and let the rest of the world pay for their own armies. We'd have a lot more money in our coffers and the countries with socialized medicine would find they had a lot less money to spend on health care without us protecting their borders. Who gives a crap if N. Korea blows up S. Korea. I sure as hell don't.

Affordable Care Act is about government control

July 08, 2012 12:00 am • By Doug Ross,

The Affordable Care Act consists primarily of taking away many of our liberties by advocating health care for the less fortunate.

The government does not possess the authority to require an individual to purchase health insurance, so why try trick the uniformed into thinking the government knows what is best for them?

The Affordable Care Act is about government control over a large market and the welfare of those people. As more companies drop their health insurance plans, those individuals will be required to join a government-controlled health plan and be subservient to that ideology.

This is just what the socialistic president wants — more people dependent on government and therefore more control over those individual lives.

Again, just smoke and mirrors. Watch this hand while I steal your liberties.

I know that, I've just decided to stop arguing with democrats about the issues and let them find out for themselves, it'll be very entertaining watching them whine. The first one I've seen so far is Kirsten Powers. She got her letter telling her she cannot keep her insurance it's been cancelled. In order to buy new insurance she'll have to pay twice the premium with 3x the deductible. I laughed my butt off. :eusa_boohoo::eusa_boohoo:

so the question was why didn't obama keep his promise, leave Powers alone, and just put the 30 million un insured into medicaid?

Well, I'll be damned.

This is a big day at USMess. WillowTree has asked an intelligent question and actually, though she has no way of knowing it, she also answered it - all in the same post.

Answer #1: ask the pubs about single payer.

Answer #2: Read the millions of words on this website alone that answer that very question, over and over. Be forewarned, you will have to actually read posts typed by the enemy: libs.

(Note: whatever you do, don't ask AVG-JOE. He's a blithering idiot who is just looking for shit to support his own mistakes.

Because the fraud perpetrated on the people isn't to help them be well, it is to buy votes for power and control for the progressive party of America and demolish capitalism.

Helping people was never the intention.

Crashing the system is.

ACA is but a single step to the nationalization of the entire health-care industry.

Then everyone -- EVERYONE -- will be under government's boot.

You're not a very civil polite person are you? no, you are not, you're the typical every day run of the mill liberal.

It won't even come close to working until every single solitary American is paying FEDERAL INCOME tax. I don't think the liberals want that.

True. What scares me is the very real possibility that insurance companies will start going bankrupt. Insurance companies are losing money from the millions of cancellations that were forced upon them because of obamacare. Add to that those that have signed or will sign on with pre-existing medical conditions, and you have the recipe for disaster. When the claims start coming in, all bets are off.
