Should McConnell invoke the "nuke option" on behalf of Gorsuch?

Democrats are seriously considering a filibuster on the vote for Gorsuch to the SCOTUS....The memory of how judge Garland was treated by McConnell, coupled with the very real fact that the Trump administration is currently under FBI (and other intelligence agencies') investigation...possibly even subsequent criminal investigations.

So, should McConnell invoke the nuclear option to seat Gorsuch and risk a precedent that could backfire for the GOP.......or allow the Gorsuch confirmation to wither away?

No.

Table the conformation vote until the FBI give the all clear.

Using the nuclear option will backfire on McConnell like it did with Reid.

Leave it alone and wait for the time to vote on the conformation and let Schummer think he won.

I'm not sure this is the hill the Democrats need to die on. Gorsuch is probably the best justice you are going to get out of this administration.

The fact is, all nominating Gorsuch does is return the court to its pre-Scalia's death status of 4-1-4. Probably best to let this one slide and then fight him tooth and nail on the next one, perhaps after the 2018 midterms when things are more favorable.

It doesn't matter whether they should or not, they will. Our politics are binary now.

Now the Dems have to hope that Kennedy and Ginsburg can hang on.

Fully agree........Gorsuch may turn out to be just another Kennedy or even Roberts and render decisions that may actually surprise (unpleasantly) arch conservatives ...

However, the NEXT possible nomination must be fought....and fought hard.

Nonetheless, as it currently stands, Schumer has vowed to filibuster Gorsuch's approval.

Reid and the dems started this shit with the obamacare vote. What goes around comes around.

We are a divided nation, and that is destroying us. Partisan politics must end if our nation is to survive.

When did this shit start? Nixon?

schumer is a hypocrite, he voted to confirm Gorsuch the first time.

should he need to?

Schumer.......right or wrong.....sees the "blood in the water," and to hand Trump yet another loss may be too tempting.

When did it start?

Adams and Jefferson?

Partisan Politics rise and fall but has been around since the founding of this great nation of ours.

As for Schummer last stance on Gorsuch, well good luck with it but in the end Gorsuch should be confirmed.

In "fairness" to Reid (whom I very much disliked) applied the nuke option ONLY to appoint the dozens upon dozens of federal judge-ships that were being filibustered by the GOP........EXCLUDING the option from any seats in the SCOTUS.

Nuke 'em. Then pass whatever we need that passes Constitutional muster, and only then.

Tell the Democrats to go to hell, and proceed. Let them sit and pick their collective noses for the next eight years.

IMHO the Gorsuch nomination fight by dems isn't as much about him as about the "stolen seat". Gorsuch will be confirmed one way or another, but the next seat will be fought tooth-and-nail... If all Trump gets to do in this term legislatively is one or two seats on the USSC, and the economy picks up, that 1st term will be deemed a success.

Depends on how many times in a term McConnell can pull the nuclear option.

Everything considered, Gorsuch, imo, is a good choice and should be confirmed.

When the Left got control of the public school system back in the 60's.

The masks came off following Gore's defeat in 2000. The Democrats have revealed more of what they truly are every year since.
