He should not do so because if/when the GOP are in the minority, but not a "super minority," they won't want the "nuclear option" used against them. That's a door that, once opened, cannot be shut and that foments greater discord and divisiveness in the Senate. That's not good for Senators or for the people who elected them, no matter the party.
