In 30 countries, heads of state must belong to a certain religion

"Most of the world’s countries (85%) allow citizens of any religious affiliation to be head of state. In the United States, the Constitution specifically prohibits any kind of “religious test” as a qualification for holding federal or state public office. At the same time, a number of states still have laws on the books prohibiting nonbelievers from holding office. However, the Supreme Court has ruled that First Amendment’s prohibition on the establishment of religion clearly prohibits states from requiring office-holders to profess a belief in God."

No.

Most Christians would just prefer a Christian to be President. Because they feel it would be beneficial to the US.

You may find a few radicals that say it must be a requirement.... or we would be better of if it would.
But as it is now, no. Even the Bible says to render to Caesar what is Caesar's ... meaning, if we live here should follow the laws, as long is it means we are not in direct opposition with God's commands.

For a Christian, God is always first.

No.

Hell, according to a large portion of protestants in this country, we already had one (JFK).

the whole saga is to pay taxes, why people try to stretch it to other parts of existence is beyond me...

always thought there was something about 'no religious test' for government office?

See no reason to change that.

Actually I am thinking Christians should not even run for office. Let Cesar be Cesar. Stay out of the fray. Problem is that if all the power is given to the artiest they then to abuse that power as we have seen very often through out the history of man.

The answer I give is no. But on the other hand, as I have read in some of the responses, being of faith can not disqualify.

We should require the President to renounce all affiliations with any religion,

on the grounds of potential conflict of interest.

lol
