If you have the money for a 226, then you have the money for :

1) H&K USP Compact

2) Sig Sauer P229

Get either one , you will not be dissatisfied I assure you .

Compact, and versatile.

9mm for flat and long distance shooting, or 40 Caliber for great anti barrier and anti material use.

My opinion.
