Amazon’s warehouse computer system tracked and fired hundreds of workers.

“Workers at Amazon warehouses who fail to pack goods for delivery quickly enough are being automatically fired by a computer programme which measures their performance, according to new research. The software used in Amazon fulfillment centres in the US, automatically evaluates the performance of individual workers against internal metrics and dismisses those who fail to meet certain criteria, including speed.”

Need this in DC.

Yep. A lot of great advances made with tools like 6 sigma. The problem is every year corporations want 15% improvement every year. Most companies have gotten as good as they can get and the best you can squeeze out is maybe 1% improvement. You can’t say that reality in a business because the bonus structure is based upon the unobtainable goal. So now it’s machines cracking the whip over humans.
