Damn liberals, they can't ever practice what they preach:

It’s sometimes said that if some people didn’t have double standards, they’d have no standards at all. That applies to the Freedom Socialist Party.

In 2012, their official website was pushing for a drastic increase in the minimum wage. In fact, they pushed for a full $20 per hour minimum wage, even for the most basic jobs:

Well, if you are a socialist, I have good news: the Freedom Socialist Party is hiring! They must have competitive wages for a web developer, right? Not exactly.

The people who want people who flip hamburgers for a living to earn $20 an hour to do that are willing to pay an experienced web developer… $13 an hour.

Yep, they're hypocrites allrighty!

a socialist pushing a business that makes a profit higher WAGES to employees ?

using the word socialist in a comment like that qualifies you as a candidate for dumbass of the year ...

I get the idea that you simply can't understand normal thinking.

Pure socialism goes against economics and human nature. It is all about emotions and not economic facts.

Projection kid.

Let's replace "socialist" with Liberal, NOW it fits.

Moron.

There's policy they want that might make life in America great again, and then there's bs in the voodoo America of today, hater dupes. BTW, you're brainwashed morons.

At 20 an hour (43k per year) they will be making the same and in some cases MORE than US soldiers willing to die for their country while flipping burgers. AND YES that income for junior enlisted included BAH, BAS and insurance. What incentive will those in jobs like firemen, cops and military have to join and risk their lives? Is the government underpaying their military?

NZ has 13, Oz 15- actually we deserve the same. Link to your $20 bs, Foxbots?

Only the incredibly short sighted fail to see this would set off a round of price increases for everyone and eventually extend to raising prices on everything if McD's does this.

Then the McD's workers will strike for $30/hr jobs.

It would never stop.

We can stop this madness by just saying NO!

McD's was never supposed to be a job for life or to raise a family on.

Hilarious RW "logic"...

Then you must find the sensible world very funny.

Not as many concrete benefits in this world can be boasted as having been created by Liberals, I fear.

That antique battleship pictured in your avi was neither designed nor built by Liberals.

BTW, 88% of those affected by a rise to %10.10 would be older than 19, average 35! Times have changed duh.

And what is it that has brought on this change requiring such a response as you recommend?

Once a GOP POTUS is in the White House maybe we will see those kids getting REAL jobs.

Not Eboma jobs.

Just how far would you have the USA suffer?

Do you want us destroyed?

Cus that's what Eboma has brouyght to this land.

A stealthy deconstruction of ALL of America's institutions.

I think he figures that if he can't cripple us in one way, maybe he will succeed by using another ploy. So, every day there's a new drama.

Lots of drama Eboma.

The drama which comes from wondering, "just wtf will he try next to screw America over?"

Under socialism the workers will work for FORCE to work for peanuts since they should be proud to be working for the almighty state.

Sorry, you already OWN that title!

Labor costs are only 15-20 per cent of prices, so prices would go up

Actually, has nothing to do with Obama, just with voodoo Reaganism tax rates and pander to the rich policy Pubs have defended to the death...OF THE COUNTRY. See if you can spot the trend:

The Demise of the American Middle Class In Numbers.

Over the past 30 years the American dream has gradually disappeared. The process was slow, so most people didn’t notice. They just worked a few more hours, borrowed a little more and cut back on non-essentials. But looking at the numbers and comparing them over long time periods, it is obvious that things have changed drastically. Here are the details:

1. WORKERS PRODUCE MORE BUT THE GAINS GO TO BUSINESS.

Over the past 63 years worker productivity has grown by 2.0% per year.

But after 1980, workers received a smaller share every year. Labor’s share of income (1992 = 100%):

1950 = 101%
1960 = 105%
1970 = 105%
1980 = 105% – Reagan
1990 = 100%
2000 = 96%
2007 = 92%

A 13% drop since 1980

2. THE TOP 10% GET A LARGER SHARE.

Share of National Income going to Top 10%:

1950 = 35%
1960 = 34%
1970 = 34%
1980 = 34% – Reagan
1990 = 40%
2000 = 47%
2007 = 50%

An increase of 16% since Reagan.

3. WORKERS COMPENSATED FOR THE LOSS OF INCOME BY SPENDING THEIR SAVINGS.

The savings Rose up to Reagan and fell during and after.

1950 = 6.0%
1960 = 7.0%
1970 = 8.5%
1980 = 10.0% – Reagan
1982 = 11.2% – Peak
1990 = 7.0%
2000 = 2.0%
2006 = -1.1% (Negative = withdrawing from savings)

A 12.3% drop after Reagan.

4. WORKERS ALSO BORROWED TO MAKE UP FOR THE LOSS.

Household Debt as percentage of GDP:

1965 = 46%
1970 = 45%
1980 = 50% – Reagan
1990 = 61%
2000 = 69%
2007 = 95%

A 45% increase after 1980.

5. SO THE GAP BETWEEN THE RICHEST AND THE POOREST HAS GROWN.

Gap Between the Share of Capital Income earned by the top 1%
and the bottom 80%:

1980 = 10%
2003 = 56%

A 5.6 times increase.

6. AND THE AMERICAN DREAM IS GONE.

The Probably of Moving Up from the Bottom 40% to the Top 40%:

1945 = 12%
1958 = 6%
1990 = 3%
2000 = 2%

A 10% Decrease.
