Steve Schmidt rant against GOP ?asininity? - Tal Kopan - POLITICO.com.

Steve Schmidt, a former top advisor to the McCain/Palin '08 Campaign has apologized for helping create the "Freak Show" Wing of the Republican Party.

Mr. Schmidt's comments came as part of a rant against what he calls the "Assininity" of the Republican Party.

Mr Schmidt expressed deep regret for his selection of 1/2 term Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin as John McCain's running mate in the failed '08 Republican Presidential Campaign.

Mr. Schmidt's remarks to an Op-Ed by Sarah Palin praising Texas Senator (and Canadian By Birth) Ted Cruz and his attempts to defund the Affordable Health Care Act.

Mr. Schmidt, after the Debut of the HBO Movie "Game Change", a docudrama about the failed McCain/Palin Campaign, said that Sarah Palin was "Manifestly Ill-Prepared" to assume the Office of President of the United States, much the Office of Vice President.

Mr. Schmidt was one of the advisors who pushed for Palin, but came to see her selection as destructive to the campaign.

Because he is right and you are wrong, my friend.

He should be banished to Utah County, Utah, for his political sins.

So because he is so right, you have to resort to attacking my faith.

After all, there is nothing completely self serving about anything he is saying. I mean it's not like he is trying to blame Palin for his failure

Well, the problem is ... do you want to win the WH? You are not going to get the fed govt out of the HC markets. Medicare is not going away. Private insurance is not going to insure the uninsured w/o govt money (ie taxes). Cruz is to the right of Barrasso and Coburn, and that's a lonely place to be.

lol, this frikken LOSER is again RANTING and how funny some hang on his every word like it's the GOSPEL or something

he should shut up and go hang his head in shame Permanently ...he helped the Republicans lose to a community organizer

He's just saying what lots of other Republicans have said. He makes a living off of being a "Republican insider" because of the access he has to leading Republicans. He's a messenger and the message is that the party needs to stay away from those in their party who make the party look stupid and/or hateful if they expect to win future elections. He isn't the first one to send out that message.

This guy, whom is desperately trying to make a name for himself after totally failing with McCain/Palin and we are supposed to listen to him?

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....................................

I bet you are one of those totally cliched people that believe (NOT THINK that's an intelligent person's characteristic!)
there are 46 million people supposedly UNINSURED!
Tell me do you think it is right to provide health insurance for 10 million illegal invaders of the USA?
Or how will you insure 14 million people that are already eligible for Medicaid but are too dumb to register?
Finally are you one of those idiots that think JUST because 18 million people DON"T NEED (under age 34), but can
afford (Make over $50,000 a year) health insurance THEY should be forced to buy it???

That leaves 4 million that truly want and need!

All that is needed is to tax lawyers 10% or $27 billion and use that to pay $5,000 premium for each of those 4 million!

AND you want to destroy the tax base that pays $100 billion a year in Federal/state/local taxes while eliminating 400,000 jobs???

Steve Schmidt? The same man that ran that horrible losing campaign in 2008?

The same Steve Schmidt who blames Palin on a continual basis for his failures?

That Steve Schmidt?

I'm not a fan of obamacare, though the gop has already lost this one, and is merely whistiling dixie in the dark. And the reason they lost is internally in the party those who believe the govt has no role in providing a way to insure all people, and to control HC costs, won the debate with those of us who believe govt has this role.

And, we will continue to lose natl elections so long as the party remains in this situation.

Passing a worthless law that does nothing to insure and everything to raise prices is beneficial to no one. If the R's keep signing off on this travesty, they can forget about the WH.

Steve Schmidt and Nichole Wallace have been very outspoken about the incompetence of Sarah Palin but in fairness to Obama, their incompetence in (not) vetting Palin and trying after they were into the committment already wasn't the only reason Obama won. He ended up being such a good candidate, they didn't stand a chance.

I wouldn't be surprised if her and Cruz run in 2016, they're both so arrogant. Stupid yet arrogant, curious combination...

Bringing Schmidt into the Hillary campaign would be a smart move. He would be a good guy to bounce ideas off of.

How'd Schmidt do running a campaign against a Community Organizer with radical associations and no real world experience? Not too good, right?

Soros bought Schmidt, we're looking for the cancelled check

Soros backed McCain and installed Schmidt as his Campaign Coordinator with the horrific result we all witnessed
