Rice was savaged by the Right Wing press and Republicans in general for delivering prepared talking points on the terrible events in Benghazi just a few days before. Her crime? A suggestion that a protest similar to the one that occurred only a few hour before in Egypt had happened in Benghazi and some militants took advantage of that. Even though she acknowledged that an investigation was ongoing and that they would have the final say on the matter. It stunk to high heaven and we are a worse country for it.
