Syrian Army officially reverses all rebel gains in northern Latakia

"The Syrian Armed Forces have now recaptured all points they lost to the extremist rebels inside northern Latakia over the last 48 hours.
Despite the good news, the Syrian Armed Forces cannot continue to remain inactive at this front because the extremist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra will repeatedly harass them at Jabal Al-Qal’at."

Russia says there are no plans to storm Syria's Aleppo
12 Apr 2016 : There are no plans to storm the Syrian city of Aleppo despite thousands of Al-Nusra militants massing around the city, the Russian military general staff, which is providing air support to the Syrian army, said on Monday.
Fighting between rebels opposed to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and forces loyal to Damascus has flared around Aleppo in recent weeks, threatening a fragile ceasefire in the run-up to the a new round of peace talks on the conflict. Sergei Rudskoy, head of the Russian General Staff's main operations command, said around 9,500 Al-Nusra fighters had gathered to the south-west and north of Aleppo and were planning a large-scale offensive to cut the city off from the Syrian capital of Damascus.

"All actions of the Syrian military and Russian air force are directed at disrupting the plans of Jabhat al-Nusra. No storming of the city of Aleppo is planned," he said. Syrian Prime Minister Wael al-Halaki said on Sunday the Russian air force and Syrian military were preparing a joint operation to take full control of Aleppo from rebel forces.

Half of the city, Syria's largest before the war, has been in rebel hands for years. Syrian media reported a large build-up of troops and equipment by the Syrian army and its allies around Aleppo on Monday, with the pro-Damascus al-Mayadeen TV station reporting it had seen tanks and rocket launchers heading towards the city.

Breaking: Syrian Army, Hezbollah storm Al-Eis in South Aleppo

Before storming the town, the SAA launched a volley of at least 300 missiles to weaken the Al-Qaeda affiliated terrorist groups defenses. Al-Nusra had taken the town just weeks earlier from government forces, however with a large scale operation set to begin in south Aleppo in the near future, it is expected that SAA and their allies will be making significant gains.
Al-Eis was also the site where terrorist forces downed a Syrian jet and captured the pilot alive.

Four Iran army special forces troops killed in Syria: agency

Four soldiers in Iran's regular army were killed in Syria, the Tasnim news agency reported on Monday, only a week after Tehran announced the deployment of army commandos to help President Bashar al-Assad in the civil war there.
photo_2016-04-12_12-12-12.jpg

Tehran is Assad's main regional ally and has provided military and economic support to his fight against rebel groups and Islamic State militants.

To date, most Iranians involved in the Syrian war have been from the paramilitary Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps. Iran is believed to have sent hundreds as military advisers.

But an officer in the Iranian army's ground force said last week that commandos from the army's Brigade 65 and other units were sent to Syria as advisers.

"Four of the first military advisors of the Islamic Republic's army...were killed in Syria by takfiri groups," Tasnim reported. Iran refers to the hardline Sunni Islamists as takfiris.

Tasnim has named one of them as Mohsen Qeytaslo, a commando, but has not identified the rest.

Commenting on the deployment of Brigade 65 to Syria, the commander of ground forces, Brigadier General Hamidreza Pourdastan, said on Monday it was Iran's new strategy to send more advisers to the Syrian war.

Just from viewing images and video, it appears that SAA is fielding more armor. This could be a misperception on my part because I am only going from those images and video's. Is my perception wrong? If my perception is right, what is the cause? Are rebel forces experiencing a shortage of anti-armor weaponry, and if so, is it caused by military interruption of supply lines or is it caused by a political change from the suppliers in Saudi and Turkey?

What I know is that AT weapons are officially supplied to FSA in northern Syria. However, FSA forces there are only attachments to Nusra forces, Al Jazeera calls it "fragmentation".

You could be right. Tanks are more common now. Also Kurdish forces, that are now allies of the SAA, were seen using T-55 and T-72 probably supplied by the Syrian government. Syrian army T-90 were seen in Latakia, Aleppo and Palmyra.
Also Hezbollah has tanks now. Iraqi Hezbollah in Aleppo:

I think that the Russians are supplying Syria with a lot of hot stuff nowadays. Reportedly, even some SU-34 are now part of the Syrian airforce and the Syrian army´s S-300 AA systems cover all of Syria.
