I think not. Keep out. Leave them alone! Stop fighting everyone else's wars! Stop funding the Islamist rebels! Let them hash it out.

No. And not with this president either.

Oooh some one who wants Assad disposed of so Al Qaeda takes over! So then the populace can really really suffer under radical Islam.

Special.

Actually, it's time people you stop talking about subjects you know nothing about. The U.S. doesn't wage wars to save anyone from tyranny you hopeless idiot.

Syrian troops have liberated 85% of the country – Russian MoD
12 Sep, 2017 - Troops of the Syrian 5th Army Corps join Syrian army units in the south of Deir ez-Zor following the breaking of the ISIL blockade at the main entrance to the city in the south.
Syria’s military have liberated around 85 percent of the country’s territory from the control of insurgent terrorists, according to the latest statement by the Russian Ministry of Defense. Lieutenant General Aleksandr Lapin, Russian chief of staff in Syria, told reporters at Khmeimim air base that the Syrian forces will now have to liberate the remaining 15 percent, around 27,000 square kilometers.

Lapin also said that Syrian troops are continuing the operation to free Deir ez-Zor from Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL). “Currently the operation to free the city is ongoing. The Syrian military will soon finish off the IS forces that used to occupy the city’s neighborhoods,” the Lieutenant General said in a briefing.

The blockade of Deir ez-Zor was broken on September 5 by Syrian forces, after three years of IS control of the city. “The command posts and communication networks of the terrorists were destroyed by Kalibr cruise missiles, launched from the Black Sea escort vessel ‘Admiral Essen’. This disrupted control of IS units in the area.” “Over 450 terrorists, 5 tanks and 42 pickups with heavy machine guns were liquidated during the operation,” the Lieutenant General added.

Russia has been providing assistance for the Syrian forces fighting IS since 2015, and with the Russian military’s help, the Syrian army has freed Hama, Homs, Latakia, Palmyra and Aleppo. In March 2016, Russian President Putin ordered a partial withdrawal of Russian forces because they had reached all of the goals that had been set for them in the country. Nevertheless, a small group of Russian military planes remains stationed in Khmeimim and continues to strike terrorist positions. Russia has also deployed special forces and anti-aircraft systems in the area to protect the base from attack.

Russia Says Syria Government Seized Most Territory from ISIS
12 Sep 2017 — Russia's military said Tuesday that Syrian troops have liberated about 85 percent of the war-torn country's territory from militants, a major turn-around two years after Moscow intervened to lend a hand to its embattled long-time ally.
Russia has been providing air cover for President Bashar Assad's troops since 2015, changing the tide of the war and giving Syrian and allied troops an advantage over opposition fighters and Islamic State group militants. Speaking to reporters at the Hemeimeem air base in Syria's province of Latakia, Lt. Gen. Alexander Lapin said the Syrian government still must clear the militants who hold approximately 27,000 square kilometers (10,425 square miles), the remaining 15 percent. The reporters were later flown to Aleppo city, which opposition fighters lost to the Syrian government in late 2016, and where Russian military police patrol parts of the city.

Syrian troops, along with strong support from Iranian-backed ground fighters, have in recent weeks pushed IS militants out of central Homs province, near the border with Lebanon, and are now fighting them in the oil-rich Deir el-Zour province in the east. Deir el-Zour is the last major IS holdout in Syria and the Syrian campaign, backed by Russian air power, broke a nearly three-year-old siege on the provincial capital where troops had been encircled by IS militants. But activists said civilians are bearing the brunt of the offensive amid intensive airstrikes and IS taking them as human shields. An overnight airstrike hit recently displaced Syrians from Deir el-Zour on the western side of the Euphrates River, killing at least eight civilians.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and Omar Abu Laila, who runs a group that monitors developments in Deir el-Zour, said the airstrikes were suspected to be from Russian aircraft. At the height of its strength, IS controlled nearly half of Syria, seizing mostly territories in the east and north of Syria. Around Syria, there are still pockets of other insurgents, some backed by Turkey and others by the U.S., in the northwest and north as well as in the south and near the capital. Militants affiliated with al-Qaida control Idlib province, near the border with Turkey.

Russian air power has been instrumental in recent Syrian military successes. With Damascus facing major battlefield defeats, Moscow signed a deal with the Syrian government in August 2015 to deploy an air force contingent and other military assets at the Hemeimeem base, in the heartland of Assad's Alawite religious minority. In a matter of weeks, Russia's military built up the base so it could host dozens of Russian jets. The siege broken, Deir Ezzor Syrians prepare for pizza

wire-1307327-1505024155-98_634x456.jpg

Haitham al-Ahmad has been busy dusting down kitchen appliances ahead of the grand reopening of his pizza place, after government troops broke a crippling jihadist siege of Syria's Deir Ezzor.

He brought down the shutters on his restaurant nearly three years ago, when Islamic State group militants cut off regime-held parts of the eastern city.

Russian-backed Syrian forces broke through on Tuesday, and food supplies have now begun entering a western enclave of the city via the newly opened road.

In his "Prince of Pizza and Pies" restaurant in Al-Qusur district, Ahmad excitedly listed the dishes that will feature on his menu.

"I'll serve meat pies, walnut and tomato paste, pizza, and mushahamiya" -- a meatloaf especially made in Deir Ezzor.

"And all kinds of pastries," he added.

"We'll get back to work, and Deir Ezzor will go back to the way it was."

More at link with all the good news.

Did "WE?" Do you mean... did the thousands and thousands of Muslims that died fighting against evil save the Christians? Because we voted to give the nation to Russia and Assad. No bother about any Christians.

Thank heavens for Assad. He has always protected minority religions. What most people don't know is that Christian and Sunnis lead his army. High ranking. They never deserted him or the government. They've been loyal.

This flies in the face of all the propaganda our media has handed us. The truth is out there. This article will blow you away.

From the article:

"The Syrian Arab Army is also the only Arab army with multiple Christians serving as generals.

The most famous of these was Daoud Rajha, the Greek Orthodox army chief of staff. The two most influential Lebanese Christian leaders, now on the verge of becoming the next president of Lebanon, are Michel Aoun and Suleiman Franjieh, who are also allies of the Syrian Arab Army and President Assad.

Deir al-Zour is an entirely Sunni city which has held out against ISIS encirclement for two years—and is commanded by the Druze General Issam Zahreddine."

The truth is finally coming out. Awesome!

You had no right to give Syria to anyone let alone the Muslim Brotherhood who was supposedly Assad's opposition.

Obama I guess believed he didn't fuck up Egypt enough with the MB noooooooooooooooooooooo. He and Hillary had to go and fuck up Libya as well and turn that country over to various terror groups and now you can find open air slave markets in Tripoli.

And still Obama would not give up with his regime change from secular leaders to Sunnis and put the yoke of Sharia law around the necks of the poor Syrians.

Why would I kill myself?

If one believes in women's rights and has fought for them in the Middle East as I have since the mid 90's, its an easy choice between Assad or Sharia.

Syrian women love their freedom. THAT'S why they love Assad and not Sharia.

It is not allowed for women in Saudi Arabia to walk the streets alone. The exception is only “short” walking tours inside very crowded places, for example, in a shopping center during the shopping. In any other cases a woman must be accompanied by her husband or any other close male relative.

I don't believe any of the anti-assad propaganda our media has been spewing. It's all been so painfully transparent.

Assad is not a tyrannical dictator. The country is secular and all religions are respected. And anyone who has been on boards with me for many a year knows what I have done in the past. I'm an original feminist and classical liberal and I went at women's rights in the ME beginning with the Taliban. One of the most successful efforts was when we were able to succeed in getting Zahra Kazemi's son the right to sue Iran over his mothers death. Pretty big deal. You lose more than you win, but it's worth the fight.

Oh, here's a picture of Zahra. She was an amazing and very talented photographer. Sadly she died a brutal death at the hands of the Iranians.

What are YOU doing to help the children?
Opposing you and Trump.

Trump's America first policy is explicitly anti-interventionist. Your pals at CNN and the rest of the mainstream media did nothing but beat the war drums.
Republicans would die before being "anti-interventionist."

You're lucky the majority of voters and Americans oppose Trump's Presidency.
