A cousin of Syria’s president has shot dead a senior air force officer in a road rage incident in the Latakia coastal heartland of their minority Alawite community, according to a monitoring group.

Suleiman al-Assad, a first cousin once removed of Bashar al-Assad, killed Colonel Hassan al-Sheikh “because he overtook him at a crossroads” Thursday evening, said Rami Abdel Rahman, head of the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Assad “followed him, swerved the car around, got out and shot him dead”, said Abdel Rahman, whose group has contacts across war-torn Syria.

President Assad’s Cousin Under Investigation for the Murder of a Syrian Army Officer

"The cousin of Syria’s President, Dr. Bashar Al-Assad, allegedly killed a Syrian Arab Army officer on Thursday night after a minor automobile accident that damaged the culprit’s Jeep.

According to sources in Latakia, Suleiman Hilal Al-Assad – President Assad’s second cousin – was identified by eyewitnesses as the man who killed Colonel Hassan Al-Sheikh of the Syrian Arab Army’s Engineering Corps.

The incident took place in downtown Latakia City, when Suleiman Al-Assad and Colonel Hassan Al-Sheikh collided in an automobile accident that reportedly prompted the President’s cousin to physically confront the Syrian Army officer.

Following the news of Colonel Hassan Al-Sheikh’s death, civilians in the Syrian port-city of Latakia took to the streets in order to demonstrate for justice to be served.

The Governor of Latakia, Ibrahim Khodor Al-Salem, issued a statement on Saturday morning, in which he condemned this heinous crime and declared that there will be a full investigation into this murder – he also added that no one is above the Syrian justice system, including members of prominent families.

Suleiman Al-Assad is the son of the late, Hilal Al-Assad. His father was killed in 2013 while he was fighting with the National Defense Forces (NDF) at the predominately Armenian town of Kassab. Hilal Al-Assad was the leader and one of the founders of the National Defense Forces.

Colonel Hassan Al-Sheikh was a long-time member of the Syrian Arab Army. He was said to be a good friend to General Maher Al-Assad of the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division.

No further information was provided."

Did you get a load of what the Little Boy said on a previous post to this thread?

"You see, freedom of expression, gathering and demonstrate is greatly granted in Syria."

If this were actually true, you would not have seen protesters gunned down which resulted in the beginning of the Syria Civil War. There was no way right now for Assad to stop the demonstrations. Can you see him authorizing the police to gun down these protestors in an Alawhite area? Besides, can anyone tell us why this cousin was not immediately arrested since there were witnesses to what he did and why in the world was this man be carrying such a weapon in his car?

By the way, the Little Boy is so devoted that he gives up his sleep for Assad. He wants to catch everyone who says anything derogatory about Assad or family members. When people in Germany are sound asleep, the Little Boy is still right in front of his computer monitoring the posts. I guess there is no bed check in the nut house.
