Americans claim guns make for a safe society

Safe from abuse by a tyrannical government. As you can see from living in the UK, you're not safe from that.
There are 195 countries with a total population of 8 billion

There are 17 countries that ban guns with a total population of 138,734,651

8.7% of countries with 1.73% of the world's population banned guns

There are 5 countries that are classed to have tyrannical governments, only 2 have banned guns

Please stick to reality and please stick to the thread title.

Strange, more guns means greater safety? What's going wrong with that fallacy 🤔

Homicide rate from firearms, 2021

Homicide rate from firearms, measured as the number of deaths per 100,000 people.

The USA doesn't lead the world. Some of those that exceed the USA don't have high rate of legal gun ownership, some have greater restriction on gun ownership.

The UK has 1,200 violent crimes per 100,000 population, the U.S. 380. He's full of shit, is all.
Gun deaths are deaths, you can compare countries on deaths. With crime that does not involve death, does any country have exactly the same laws, the same definitions, the same reporting procedures etc.. Even between European member states, laws and definitions differ. Some countries class certain acts as crime, other consider it as a civil matters. So for example in the UK, the police won't turn up to someone trespassing because it's a civil matter, not a criminal matter, some other countries will log it as a crime.

You can breakdown populations to per capita, per 100,000 people to compare gun deaths. In the case of America it's too many unsuitables with guns, and a dreadful gun mentality.
