After a year of riots, unrest, and now politicians and local law enforcement telling criminals they won’t or they can’t stop them from stealing from stores, community leaders and the press are holding a national store chain accountable for closing. They are also blaming “the limits of Capitalism. “

This article is so irresponsible. It uses the tragedy of a store closing in an urban community to assail Capitalism and frame Target as the racist corporation that does not want to invest in Black Communities….. all the while ignoring the presence of civil unrest and free form shoplifting.

Leftists do the same thing for decades with grocery store chains. Target's problem is they opened their mouth with woke statements after their stores were looted.

Closing stores will only make those who shoplift start looking for other places to do their "business" with.

God bless you always!!!

However if those people shoplift in another jurisdiction they will be prosecuted, you know where law and order resides.

Instead of assailing Capitalism and calling corporations racist for closing down stores where elderly will no longer get prescriptions and mothers can no longer get food and essentials for their children, why don’t the community organizers and BLM step up and create a coop to fill the void. Or, why not use the void to help grow, invest, or support a Black entrepreneur?

When a store pledges to help a community the community has to pledge to help the store and this includes adequate law enforcement. Since the community has failed the stores have no choice but to close.

So are you saying they should stay open to make it easier?
Or perhaps it is finally time to acknowledge, and do something about inner city culture?

Targets whole ad campaign before Floyd was towards young, white hipsters with new families.
Then the pandering started.
Haven't been in one of their stores in years.

Well lets see how many left wing organizations step up to the plate to open retail centers in the closed Target locations with a " Take whatever you want and don't pay for it " policy in place. I'll be waiting to see.

it's too late.... the rush to reap benefits by selling the lowest common denominator has begun to reach the limits of practical existence. There's nothing lower to sell and now trying to reverse the trend and go back to some level of responsibility will make those doing it look like sell outs. Inner cities will burn, starve and suffer because they must in order to hit bottom and respond on their own for their own benefit. A lot of people are simply going to die.

Exactly. Where is that Community Organizer creating an opportunity in crisis for positive outcome? Where are those minority owned investment banks putting up capital to fill a void and invest in the Community? Spike Lee and Oprah…..care to spare a few pennies and make an investment? Hey Lebron, I know the closing of these stores means fewer outlets to pawn your $150 sneakers made by some kid in China getting paid $0.25 per week but; come on, you can put some of those profits into the Community.

It’s time for the activists to move beyond the shakedowns and actually do some heavy lifting to help the community.

They run a pretty good lay out.... decent quality ( a step up from wally world ) and the store is spacious and easy to shop in.

I wonder what liberals think about this trend?

If they owned a business in the ghetto that was being robbed every day would they blame whites and demand a government stipend or move far away from the criminals?
