Teacher Appreciation Day

I never understood the whole "appreciation day" thing.

The way I see it you get your appreciation every pay day.

Teacher bashers had the chance to fix the system by becoming teachers. Instead they replay the same old empty rhetoric. If you aren't going to teach then let it be.

ALL I REALLY NEED TO KNOW about how to live and what to do and how to be I learned in kindergarten. Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate-school mountain, but there in the sandpile at Sunday School. These are the things I learned:

Share everything.

Play fair.

Don’t hit people.

Put things back where you found them.

Clean up your own mess.

Don’t take things that aren’t yours.

Say you’re sorry when you hurt somebody.

Wash your hands before you eat.

Flush.

Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.

Live a balanced life—learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some.

Take a nap every afternoon.

When you go out into the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands, and stick together.

Wonder. Remember the little seed in the Styrofoam cup: The roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that.

Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup—they all die. So do we.

And then remember the Dick-and-Jane books and the first word you learned—the biggest word of all—LOOK.

Everything you need to know is in there somewhere. The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation. Ecology and politics and equality and sane living.

Take any one of those items and extrapolate it into sophisticated adult terms and apply it to your family life or your work or your government or your world and it holds true and clear and firm. Think what a better world it would be if we all—the whole world—had cookies and milk about three o’clock every afternoon and then lay down with our blankies for a nap. Or if all governments had as a basic policy to always put things back where they found them and to clean up their own mess.

So, I call BS on your indoctrination claim.
Just a RWI talking point.

Horseshit....when the teachers unions took over the government schools they went gradually left into quasi-communism. You're one of them....so ideated you think you're normal...you're not and shouldn't be allowed anywhere near our young mushheads. I put 5 kids through those schools and was banned from PTA meetings because I continued telling them they were full of shit and proving it. And don't be surprised when it's time your little comrades are supposed to start paying your SS benefits and they tell you to fuck off.

It's been decades since someone could get hired as a teacher without parroting all the politically correct memes re sexual deviancy and perversions, religion, fake 'science', racist agendas, and American (fake) history, particularly in universities. Most are indeed merely there to indoctrinate and encourage treason, violence, and hatred in 'students', not actually teach them anything to do with reality or reason.

That’s simply not true.

If you don't teach then why do you waste time bashing teachers? Not everyone ants to grind away a miserable life in a factory. Or meat packing plant for that matter.

If there is one thing teachers are use to its days off with pay....I'm putting them at the bottom of my poor baby list....
Most dumbasses do.
If anyone here knows the ways of dumbasses its you....
Way to go Jethro!
Thanks Beavis.....
I believe Beavis is actually a bit more intelligent than our buddy, okfine. This is QUITE apparent!
Well, we can see equivalency, can't we?

That's for the child's parents to teach them....your job is to teach them how to read and write and to think about everything they hear and believe little of it without ample proof. Oh, and that the American Flag should give them goosebumps when they see it flapping in the breeze.

You honestly believe that? If so, I have a bridge to see you!

Those who can ,do
Those who can't ,teach
Those who can, were taught by teachers.
Those who can't bitch about teachers because they were stupid.

Nope....may have saved them and our country not to have this year's commie indoctrination. Parents had their mouths hanging open when they finally saw the garbage being crammed into their kids.

Largest, Yugest, Most Bigly FAKE NEWS ever. Commie Indoctrination.

I Have One student in class that wears a "USA sweat suit" with trump on the back.
He is pretty proud.

The ONLY time politics or ideology comes up is when he 'pops off' with some of his stupid so-called discussion where he is trying to sound more important than the rest.
Don't call BS, it happens, and he is the ONLY one who does it.

So, I call BS on your indoctrination claim.

I beg to differ as I have researched this. The only textbooks available are printed by communists. That is a big problem. Perhaps a few are not, they still have to be approved by a possibly ICLEI-infiltrated school board.
Communists are into the American education system like a headcrab on a man in Half-Life.
With all due respect you have to be quite the moron to think our education system is infiltrated by Communists.
With all due respect, if RealDave didn't hold the title belt for stupidest poster here, you would.
Yep, little Johnny IS a bit dim........

If being educated were a requirement for a job as a teacher, why is it those who post on usmb don't seem to have one?
