Teachers conviscating lunches they deem unhealthy

A parent decides what their children will eat, not the school or government.

and if the child decides trying peanut butter, 'just one time', isn't going to hurt them, so they take a bite of a friends sandwich?

Kid's can stick their fingers in electrical sockets as well, do we turn of the electricity in the building?

If possible, don't send your child into the Government-schooling quagmire. Public Schools have been completely Dumbed-Down. They're just indoctrination centers. It's all about indoctrinating the children on being loyal Democrats, Global Warming cultists, and sexually depraved degenerates. It's not worth the risk. Seek education alternatives like Private-schooling or Home-Schooling.

Would you consider banning nuts, peanut butter, from schools because of possibly fatal allergies wrong?

I consider it an overreaction. If your kid is that sensitive that being within 5 feet of a nut would kill them, they unfortunately need to be isolated.

The local school system doesn't.

because they fear lawsuits, and take the " better safe than litigated" approach.

and a severe allergy that could cause the death of the child?

Think the school is only worried about the allergy?

No, we things to stop such a thing from happening. You know, common sense and parenting. I know, you hate all rules no matter how sensible...

Again, if your child cannot come within 5 feet of a peanut, that is your problem, not mine.

We have a friend who's grandchild has a food allergy, she knows what she can eat and can't eat. No school or government will ever dictate what I decide what our children will eat, it's simply not going to happen

Yes, because children in elementary school always do what they are told, and never experiment.

I prefer better safe than sorry.

Then tell your kid not to eat nuts. It's the same thing, Don't declare schools a peanut free zone. It's idiotic.

Nobody died from a fricking peanut butter sandwich when I was growing up. this is the problem today, we protect those that should die. By doing this we weaking the human race.
its why there are so many homosexuals now.

So a child goes to playtime at a friend's house, is tempted to take a bite of the friend's peanut butter sandwich? Or goes to a birthday party and they have Reeses?

Diane Zambrano says her 4-year-old daughter, Jazlyn, is in the same West Hoke Elementary School class as the little girl whose lunch gained national attention earlier this week. When Zambrano picked Jazlyn up from school late last month, she was told by Jazlyn’s teacher that the lunch she had packed that day did not meet the necessary guidelines and that Jazlyn had been sent to the cafeteria.

The lunch Zambrano packed for her daughter? A cheese and salami sandwich on a wheat bun with apple juice. The lunch she got in the cafeteria? Chicken nuggets, a sweet potato, bread and milk. Exclusive 2nd N.C. Mother Says Daughter s School Lunch Replaced for Not Being Healthy Enough TheBlaze.com
Clearly, the teacher got her orders from Obama.

Yeah, that's it.

Your kid can have all the nuts, and nut derivatives he wasn't at home.

Just not at schools

Here is a link to the North Carolina Star Rated License program referred to in that story: Star Rated License Overview

It's a state program. And last I checked, North Carolina is a deep red state.

From the Star Rated License link:
Then, in 2005, the way facilities are evaluated was changed in order to give parents better information about a program’s quality. The new rules make a 75% “compliance history” a minimum standard for any licensed facility.

I'd say The Blaze's right wing cries of moral outrage were about seven years late. That's a 2012 story. An election year.

Coincidence?

"Nobody died from a fricking peanut butter sandwich when I was growing up."

They didn't?

Or they didn't know that was what caused it?

No. There is no reason to be that over-protective. If needed send your kid to a special school.

That being said, I agree with rules that limit ingredients on shared items brought in, but for individual meals, the banning of this, then that, then the other thing is just stupid.

Can't do anything there, can they?

But, AT SCHOOL, they can try.

Here's the part left out of the OP: "IN ENGLAND".

While true, you Fabian Socialist types do so want to emulate the European models... as socialist nanny states everywhere collapse, you lefties clamor for more of the same and then tell us how you're the really smart ones.
