".Two states, Massachusetts and New Hampshire, allow 12- and 13-year-old girls respectively and 14-year-old boys to marry with parental and judicial permission. "

If you are moving to the US you can bring your child bride over, no law states you can't.

A Republican-proposed bill in Tennessee would remove the age limit for when couple's could exchange wedding vows and clear the way for 'common-law marriages' between 'one man and one woman.'

Representative Tom Leatherwood, 65, of Arlington, introduced the bill into the state's House that would eliminate the current age requirement of 17 and allow for 'alternative forms of marriage' to those who 'conscientiously object to the current pathway to marriage.'

'So, all this bill does is give an alternative form of marriage for those pastors and other individuals who have a conscientious objection to the current pathway to marriage in our law,' the Republican said, according to WJHL. 'There is not an explicit age limit.'

Opponents are worried if the bill passes into law, it could be used to cover up child sex abuse and statutory rape.

All that ReThug Bullshit of Judge Brown-Jackson being "Pro-Pedo" and Fucking ReThugs introduce this piece of shit bill.

If any pedo goes infron of a judge, they will prefer a Democrat pedo friendly judge like jackson.

As for Justice Brown-Jackson, she was forced to follow federally established sentencing laws as passed by the Republican Controlled House and the Republican Controlled Senate.

I have heard it said, “If you give them an inch they will try to take a mile.” There does seem to be some proof in that adage.

"A bill proposal making its way through Tennessee legislature that would establish a common-law marriage between “one man” and “one woman," according to WKRN. The bill’s sponsor, Tom Leatherwood (R-Arlington) says the law being considered would add a new marriage option for Tennesseans, opponents of the bill say it would eliminate an age requirement, opening the door for a coverup of child sex abuse.

Missing from the bill are age requirements, opening the door for possible child marriages. Something the bill sponsor acknowledged during a Children and Family Affairs subcommittee. "There is not an explicit age limit," Leatherwood said. Representative Mike Stewart (D-Nashville), said he doesn’t understand the motivation. “I don’t think any normal person thinks we shouldn’t have an age requirement for marriage.” The Sexual Assault Center of Middle Tennessee released the following statement: The Sexual Assault Center does not believe the age of consent for marriage should be any younger than it already is. It makes children more vulnerable to coercion and manipulation from predators, sexual and other.”

If 2 children are in love and have been raised in the traditional ways of Christ; why shouldn't they be allowed to be married at 12? Historically, children have been getting married at this age and it was never a problem; so why not return to our traditional Christian values?? Obviously, the fact that there is no age requirement in the bill doesn't mean a grown adult will be marrying a child -- and if that did happen, it will be some tranny trying to marry a child to groom them...of course that will still be illegal because this bill only applies to heterosexual marriage.

Truly sickening bill. But it is Conservative Republicans pushing this piece of shit bill.

The lefty radio station was talking about this today. They didn't eliminate the age requirement, they just forgot to add it. It was a mistake.

Contracts with minors are void as a matter of public policy.
I'm referring to adults as it pertains to this nonsensical notion of common-law (forced) marriage. Imagine the poor bastard that ends up married to his cousin, because the arrangement checked all the states boxes. Lol!

Our marriage laws went down the tubes with the Loving vs. Va. ruling.

Not at all. Poor whataboutery on your part. Loving was and is about a a Hetro-Sexual Couple who denied their right to marriage based on race, a clear violation of the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th. Amendment.

Now, I know you're a racist, but grow the fuck up. ReThugs in Tennessee are pushing a law allow 12-Children to marry. Even you know that is wrong.
