Abraham was asked to sacrifice his son, and he was about to do it, when the angel of God stayed his hand.

But in showing his willingness to make this sacrifice, Abraham proved himself worthy of the great blessing God bestowed upon him, which was to have descendants as numerous as the stars.

The followers of three great religions consider themselves the children of Abraham, and the inheritor of God's promise to him.

And when the time came, God did make that same sacrifice he asked of Abraham, he sacrificed his only begotten Son, to die for the sins of the world, and to make eternal life with him possible.

How did God sacrifice his son, since Jesus just went over to sit at his right hand anyways?

And couldn't God have just forgiven original sin whever he wanted, without having to sacrifice anybody?

I don't know how to answer but I guess it has something to do with how the world works. Sin is like a toxic spill on an ocean, which cannot be wished away, it has to be absorbed somehow, and Jesus was the absorber.

So God isn't all powerful? I thought he created everything, and all the rules that go with it. Why can't he forgive anybody of anything?

. The sacrifice was for the sins of man in which was destroyed on that most sacred day for all whom shall believe in the sacrifice he had made for our sins.. When he went to sit at the right hand of God, it was finished. He has risen Amen.

Abraham's story is about Abraham.

It has nothing to do with Jesus. ......

You Muslims have demoted Jesus from Son of God to mere prophet, and a prophet who is less important to you than Mohammed.

Also, you deny most of the Gospel, including Christ's resurrection.

God is all powerful, but some things are beyond even God's ability to control.

For example, God cannot make a falsehood true, or a truth into a falsehood.

God cannot say, "2 + 2 = 5" for example, nor can he say "red is green" or "up is down."

So I think it beyond God's capacity to forgive us our sins without God sacrificing his Son (who is also God) to redeem us.

Yes, but what is written shall not change, and it shall be as it has been already written, and death shall be no more. The devil tried to tempt Jesus when said (follow me, and all that you see shall be yours), but the Lord spoke saying "get thee behind me Satan, for it is written".

What does that have to do with your thread title concerning Abraham? .... :dunno:

Yes it is. It was a "trial run" if you will. A test from God to see if man was worthy of what he was going to do.

Your logic is skewed. He sacraficed the ram instead =rulership, which would have meant they would have had to remove Rome instead of Rome (the rulership) removing the character.=failed logic.

In context of Scripture and Torah portion Miketz, the sacrifice are the people of Israel
as the suffering servant in Isaiah 53, and the Israel autonomous rulership(ram) in this context is sacrificed in place of the Children of Abraham Isaac & Jacob. In other words they gave up rulership to Rome=sacrafice the Ram in order to live.

. Your comic is pure idiocy, because it leaves out Satan. Satan is the enemy of man, and is the author of confusion, strife, mayhem, chaos, destruction, and many other things that are to much to list. He is the accuser of the brethren, and he seeks to destroy what God hath created. His days are numbered.

. His life was sacrificed upon this Earth (cut short), and right before man's very eyes in which to become the sacrifice (the lamb of God), in so that we should give witness to these things that have since come to pass or that we should educate ourselves (not be ignorant about them), upon behalf of the things that are still yet to come..... If we do this, then we shall live forever in eternity with him, and we shall be praising his mighty name.. Amen. Who so ever believeth in these things, and with all they're heart shall be saved. Amen!
