The Roman Catholic Church of the U.S. is one of the very few religious institutions that consistently and clearly states its moral position on human sexuality. In brief, it is the following: Sex has two legitimate purposes in Life, procreation by a married couple, and enhancing the love relationship between husband and wife. That's it.
All other uses and purposes of sexual functions are immoral and should be condemned. Parenthetically but importantly, the condemnation of immoral conduct does not imply the condemnation of people, all of whom are God's children.
Too where does that get you in today's America?
- same-sex relations, all of which involve some sort of sodomy, are seriously immoral,
- gay "marriage" is of course presumptively immoral (unless celibate),
- trans-genderism is immoral,
- sex between unmarried people is immoral,
- the use of contraception - even among married couples - to avoid creating a family is immoral.
