In the final days of the campaign the Harris campaign should stick with the essence of its message that it communicated during Kamala's speech on the Ellipse in Washington D.C. this past Tuesday, overall it was an excellent speech and persuasive! They should be repeating these important points that can move voters behavior and stop chasing rabbits down rabbit holes that the Trump campaign and the media release which waste valuable opportunities to move people about the election in Kamala Harris's favor. Many of the actions by Trump that illicit public controversy are subject to different interpretations and its foolishness to spend time critiquing such incidents; and, the media trying to create provocative commentary raising issues like what if Trump declares victory before the results are known and what if a segment of Trump supporters don't accept a negative election result and pursue civil unrest; America has a solid and unshakable foundation where the rule of law will prevail and America's overall law enforcement resources (county, state and federal) are outstandingly strong the country's systems in these areas will hold nothing to discuss here!
Kamala's Ellipse speech was outstanding in remarks like America needs to "turn the page on Donald Trump with the chaos and division he brings". Donald Trump is not a mentally stable person he is consumed by grievance a person cannot optimally serve the America people as President when they are unable to bring good judgment and full effort to the issues that confront a President when their emotions like anger, hurt, oversensitivity and revenge are controlling them! Donald Trump's decision making ability is depraved, a President in his decision making ability should be basing the decisions he or she makes on what the American people's interests call for whereas Donald Trump makes the standard what is in the best interest of Donald Trump! The choice the American people are facing in this year's election is between "chaos and division" on one hand and an "America that strives to work for All Americans" on the other hand! After this year's election one of the two candidates will be walking into the Oval Office to assume the responsibilities of the President do you want Donald Trump walking in there with his enemies list bent on retribution or do you want me, Kamala Harris, walking in there with a "To Do" list of things that will make your life better and eager to accomplish these items. The choice in this years election is between Kamala Harris a person that sees people that disagree with her not as an enemy and sees her role to strive to build consensus and reach compromise to get things done for the American people and Donald Trump whose track record is to disparage and insult people that disagree with him and try to bully them to go along with his will!
There is critically important policy issues at stake in this year's election which Kamala pointed out which include the following. Donald Trump wants to fundamentally change the way tax revenue is raised in the country. Trump wants to change the system from a tax on earnings and income and replace it with a system of a tax on imports coming into the country this tax is known as a tariff; this is an idiotic idea because ordinary Americans end up paying this tariff tax in higher prices for the goods they buy. What Trump's plan is specifically is to put a ten to twenty percent tarrif on all imports and then lower the income tax rate on extremely wealthy Americans which experts tell us will cost the average American family nearly $4000.00 a year!
Donald Trump wants to repeal the Affordable Care Act and recently the Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, explicitly admitted this is a must do item on the Republican agenda if Trump wins the White House and Republicans gain control of Congress! Kamala very appropriately recently referenced this comment by the Speaker and pointed out to the American people that the ACA law and the individual health insurance it provides is on the line with this election. If Trump and the Republicans get control of Washington this election it will be a definite that Trump will repeal the ACA, during Trump's first term they made a Herculean effort to do it and if it wasn't for the heroic act of the late Senator John McCain it would have happened if the nation remembers during the Senate vote on the repeal Senator McCain famously approached the Clerk's desk and gave the thumbs down gesture. Trump and the Republicans will do it the same way they tried to do it in 2017 they will give individual states the power to void the ACA mandate that health insurance companies must accept people with pre-existing conditions and if they do offer health insurance to people in this category they cannot charge them a higher premium for that condition of course this will dramatically lower health insurance for the people that do get health insurance with these companies because the companies will not have to pay the medical bills of these sick people with pre-existing conditions that are excluded. This repeal will result in tens of millions of Americans with pre-existing conditions unable to get good and affordable health insurance and this will encompass people with common ailments; high-blood pressure, diabetes, asthma not to mention the obvious which includes cancer survivors, transplant recipients, people that have had a stroke and people that have had a heart attack.
The Harris campaign needs to keep hammering home these points in the final days that they will lower the cost of living. Fight price gouging on food prices, lowering the cost of child care, dramatically increase the supply of lower priced homes to bring down the price of such homes and give down payment help for first-time home buyers. The Harris campaign will increase the child tax credit and thereby raise millions of families out of poverty! The Harris campaign will honor the dignity of work and for working Americans make every effort to provide them a good standard of living!
The Harris campaign needs to and can make the immigration issue a winning issue for the Harris campaign. They need to spotlight that the only way to stop the porous southern border problem for America is through legislation, the bipartisan legislation that Donald Trump blocked because he wanted to use this issue as a campaign issue is an absolute necessity to fix the problem, the legislation a President Harris will work to get done and signed into law. They need to spotlight that the only way to stop the massive waves of people coming to America without visas in violation of America's laws is by fixing the broken asylum system in America, today migrants game the system the system has almost no integrity because massive number of migrants who are just economic migrants looking for a better life make an asylum claim where they are not eligible they are not in fear of persecution based on certain criteria. The problem absolutely requires a change in the legal definition of asylum eligibility, authority for officials at the border to screen asylum claims to insure they hold reasonable potential to be legitimate, more asylum claim hearing officers and giving the border patrol the resources they need to do the job all items in the bi-partisan bill. There is no way a President Donald Trump will get a bi-partisan immigration bill passed because he has no credibility on the issue Democrats perceive Trump as a racist, bigot and one who brings little to no humanity to the problem they won't trust Trump on the issue so he'll get nothing passed and in four years America will still have the same problem!
The waning days of this campaign call for what an analyst that appeared on Chris Wallace's CNN program today, Reihan Salam, called for he said the game for the Harris campaign now should not only be to motivate her base to vote but to "de-motivate" potential voters for the other side get them to stay home, to not vote. To this end the Harris campaign should keep repeating these themes that Kamala outlined in her speech on the Ellipse; these points point to the core problem with Donald Trump which is he is fundamentally a dangerous person to put back in the White House because you can neither rely on him to do basic good things that ordinary Americans would consider a "given" and on big challenges you cannot rely on him to make good decisions because he is not tethered to a good conscience you cannot trust him to identify what is good in a specific situation or count on him caring about and prioritizing doing what is good in a specific situation!
