The radical left has always fought against humanity, against the individual, against the concept of personal identity and personal freedom. If it is one thing the left is expert at, it's weaponizing groups of people to use as political bombs against individual Americans. The prosecution struck me as knowing they didn't have much of a case and thus were more interested in covering their own ass by casting shadow on the judge.

I would agree with that.
On one hand he knew the truth...
But
On the other side he had the Mayor and Governor breathing down his neck to fry Kyle.

So a mistrial gets him off the hook by satisfying both sides while keeping his hands relatively clean.

The Mayor and Governor would have gotten to spin things however they wanted with a mistrial...Kyle would be free. And he would be blamed for bad luck of having bad help from the fat guy...(his fault for having a bad comb over)
