We are seeing a surge of anti-state government protests, responding to those governor's lockdown orders. On Thursday, there was a protest at the Virginia state capitol. On Wednesday, there was the capital protest in Michigan, as well as demonstrations in Utah, Kentucky, North Carolina and Ohio. More are planned for more are planned for the upcoming days, including in Oregon, Idaho, Texas, and Wisconsin.
These grass-roots protests are similar in nature to the 2010 Tea Party Movement, which gave the Republicans the biggest win since 1948. The Democrats lost 6 seats in the US Senate, 6 governorships, and about 700 seats in state legislatures.
We are poised to see that happen again in 2020, as well as winning back the US House of Representatives.
"DETROIT (Reuters) - As sweeping stay-at-home orders in 42 U.S. states to combat the new coronavirus have shuttered businesses, disrupted lives and decimated the economy, some protesters have begun taking to the streets to urge governors to rethink the restrictions."
Scattered protests push back on U.S. coronavirus stay-at-home orders
There's a Freedom Rally coming up on April 24th in my state. It's expected to draw anywhere from 2,000-10,000 people.
