The Real Reason Why Car Designs Are Getting Worse

I have a Lexus350NX in Caviar Black, with a deep red interior.

Which looks just like a Camry and half a dozen others.

I’ve thought the same thing. These car designs are really homogenous. It especially applies to SUVs, compacts and Sedans.

Cowardly marketing people led by cowardly leadership simply use polls to determine ‘what people want’. So everything is cookie cutter.

Nine car manufacturers
Nine cookie cutter designs.

Nobody has the guts to bring original designs or bring back designs of the past.

Some have been brought back with success, style and modern updates.

Others brought back, show styling reminder, but do not impress me at all for a variety of reasons.

I prefer the more vintage 1960's/early 70's style of rigs. Check out the SATISFIED smile on this gals face @ 2:35 into the below vid like that smile of hers is saying; "There's more than one way to get the BIG O of a lifetime!"

I remember one car that was way above the rest back in the 1980s. You knew what it was because it was unique.

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but was a car like this one ever once out there on the road at all? I am asking because I have no memory of ever seeing one. The only time that I ever remember seeing one is when I watched the Back To The Future trilogy.

God bless you always!!!

Right...Labor costs, gubmint edicts and CAFE standards started eating into the margins...It's far less expensive to run the same model line for five years.
The other thing about that - people are paying 30-50% more for the privilege of driving an EV just to show how high and mighty they are. An auto manufacturer would make a killing by putting out designs with style. Us old farts want to piss away our money.
