The Trump administration paid a bankrupt company with zero employees $55 million for N95 masks, which it's never manufactured

I am pretty sure that Trumpsters were bleating on about Obama's every mistake but this time he got nothing... Is this because they said they would get ready on the day?

This seems to be the Trump WH, don't prepare and then panic... Chuck money at unvetted private businesses...

This is all down to being not prepared and cutting budgets for areas that get US prepared. You can't create a fire dept after the fire has started, you will save money by not having one until you have a fire..

Cornavirus is a case of having no Fire Department
The best part:

---
The Post reported that the Federal Emergency Management Agency was paying Panthera about $5.50 per mask, decidedly more than what the government pays companies with an established background in producing medical supplies such as 3M, which charges about $0.63 per mask.
---

That's right, no corruption there. But then, maybe it's just that Trump business acumen at work, paying $5.50 for an $0.63 product.

That's why the Republicans are so resistant to oversight with these funds.
Sadly, when it comes to our taxes and fees, there is little oversight from either party. Take medicare for an example.

I found Pantheraintel.com which does not exist. It is part of Panthera Solutions LLC and tenxgroup.com

Panthera according to a Security Services search says they have 8 employees since 2011.

That article is misleading as hell.

The PARENT COMPANY of Panthera has no employees and filed for bankruptcy.

Panthera is a military tactical training company. They have business connections with others (military contractors) who probably have stockpiles of those masks, which Panthera uses for its training. Panthera is contacting those military contractors to obtain masks.

Now, whether those masks are worth $5.50 each is another story, but this POS excuse for toilet paper of a "news" article fucks all that up with all the misleading horse shit.

This is there web site : Panthera - Elite Training and Mission Support

So these guys are meant to have 10 million N95 masks in 13 days time......

Biggest contract ever got before from Gov was 50k.

They haven't updated there facebook page since 2018 and then it was swapped to a different account which has been updated..

These guys are not the types to have $630k of masks on hand before the pandemic...

Bootney,

Do they look like the company to have 10 million masks on hand?
These masks have a shelf life...

My point is that this stuff happens when unprepared. This happened in Puerto Rico...

Trump admitted that he doesn't hold these dept and wants to hire when disaster hits... This is what happens...

After reading and re-reading that poorly constructed article, it appears that Panthera's "mission support" supply contacts have the masks.

The whole article is a confusing web of bullshit or non-sequitur to highlight the ONLY relevant/legitimate point:

They are getting paid $5.50 per mask.

They admit that they don't in that poorly-written article. They have "contacts" who can supply the masks.

No argument there.

The author of that article probably didn't think that people would give too much of a shit about FEMA paying $5.50 per mask, which is the REAL point.

.

So is this a legit scandal or made up Democrat fake news? Or do we know yet.
It's hard to tell. The author of that article was hell bent on making it sound like a crony capitalism reacharound scandal that the real issue was lost.

We're paying $5.50 per mask from Panthera. We're probably getting ripped off, but NO. Let's focus on the PARENT company's bankruptcies, and a bunch of other horse shit.

The author's aim was to get us to all associate Panthera with Blackwater Security Consultants and Halliburton.

What a bunch of bullshit.

Washington Post has more info:

Perhaps Trump, or Jared, have a financial interest in the company. Wouldn't it be great if we didn't have to wonder about that?

An ill-prepared FEMA is now paying a premium. It sucks, but that' what happens.

Yes.

That's why I said that the dishonest author was trying to get the reader to associate Panthera with Halliburton.

Good job, Siete. You got the point.

A lot of companies are manufacturing these masks and other PPE that they have never produced before. And with the shortage of N95 masks along with the materials need to manufacture the masks the price has gone up. At one point the masks where over $7 dollars.
At one point the masks where over $7 dollars.

Some people call that profiteering but I see it as the natural course of economics

Scarcity of masks result in rising prices which lures new producers into the market

thats not an evil thing at all
