The Trump Recession Begins

Dow futures pare losses, down about 500; safety breakers stop Nasdaq, S&P 500 spirals

Dow futures briefly dropped more than 800 points and bonds rallied as markets feared Donald Trump could pull off an upset and take the White House. Dow futures were trading about 500 points lower as of 2:14 a.m., ET.

Just before midnight ET, S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq 100 futures plunged more than 5 percent.

That was just above levels identified as "limit down" by the CME, which confirmed to CNBC that S&P and Nasdaq futures can trade above but not below those prices until 9:30 a.m., ET, when the Wednesday U.S. trading session begins.

So, how long are you going to give it before you figure out that the world isn't ending? A month? A year? Ten years? Just wondering.

It is the Clinton/Obama recovery after Hillary offered to work with him on behalf of the country and Obama reassured the country of a smooth transfer of power.

Don't you think it appropriate to get him sworn in first? Moron?
It wasn't appropriate for your MessiahRushie, so the precedent has been established.

RUSH: It's entirely fair to call this Obama's stock market because it's reacting to what Obama's plans are for the economy. It's not reacting to Bush. Bush isn't on anybody's mind here.

This will be fun... the next 8 years we'll blame everything bad on Obama!!!!!! YEAH!!
Well, this thread shows the Right are still blaming Clinton, so why is there a time limit on blaming Bush?????

Who's blaming what on Clinton?
AHHHHH, the perpetual dumb act!!!

Bill Clinton crashed the entire housing market with his idiotic "1997 Community Re-Investment Act" which essentially forced banks to make loans to people who couldn't afford them.

We know that Republicans are intellectually bust, that's no reason to emulate them though.

It is fun to make the Right disavow their previous rationalizations when the shoe is on the other foot.

Yeah...exactly genius. Nobody misses their first house payment. It takes years for them to fall behind and start running up credit cards before they finally foreclose. And then it takes additional years before there are enough of them to start affecting the price of homes that haven't been foreclosed on. Welcome to reality.
and it was Bush's Dec 2003 ADDI that made loans to unqualified borrowers with bad credit with no down payment for more than the property was worth, not the CRA, which only made loans to qualified borrowers with good credit for no more than 97% of the value of the property.
The CRA forced banks to loosen their lending guildlines for "minorities" and then incentivized them by backing the loans with Freddie and Fannie. Since the banks weren't on the line for the loans and thus had everything to gain and nothing to lose, they started making extraordinarily risky loans that they never would have made without government intervention.

Nope, that didn't happen until Bush's ADDI passed in Dec 2003, and the Bush housing crash happened in less than 4 years.

Nope, Clinton and Obama fixed it by reassuring the country and the market that there would be a smooth transition to the new president. The market feels safe at least until Trump starts to tinker with the economy, but Trump promises to overheat the economy to unsustainable levels and restore the typical Republican Boom & Bust roller coaster bubble based economy that in the long run only benefits rich tycoons like Trump.

Racists always try to blame the CRA because it got rid of the racist banking practice of red lining.

How is it racist to determine that a particular person can't make a mortgage payment? I wasn't able to qualify for a home loan for years after I got my graduate degree. It's called life.

I was worried our libtards would be too embarrassed to show up after all the bullshit they flung around for so long. Poof, there goes the entertainment. Glad I was wrong.
