It is my understanding that Scotland could remain in (or reapply to) the EU after Brexit if it wanted to. Could Northern Ireland do the same thing? This would allow for the soft border with Ireland to be maintained while moving customs enforcement to shipping ports and airports (like with the rest of the EU countries).

They would have to vote to leave the UK. They would not automatically become members of the EU. If this all happens, Northern Ireland would lose the hard border, but Scotland would get a hard border, the opposite situation.

Also, the chance of Scotland leaving the UK is greater than that of Northern Ireland...

More BS. We had full control of our borders when we were in the EU. This whole mess started when the EU proposed laws to end tax avoidance/evasion by multinational corporations and billionaires went into meltdown as a result. Queue Brexit so they wouldn't have to pay their fair share.
