Read any science article on lakes polluted with weed and algae growth and you'll no doubt come across this statement. "One pound of phosphorous can produce up to 500 pounds of weed growth in our lakes". What is never stated is that the same 500 pounds of weed growth if removed, composted, and added to the soil can produce 500 pounds of food plants.
