A New York school district has banned staff from wearing a sweatshirt featuring the thin blue line patch honoring a slain NYPD officer.

Pelham Public Schools superintendent Cheryl Champ wrote to employees telling them the flag was banned, arguing it 'has increasingly been perceived by students to be threatening in nature', making them feel 'unsafe'.

Sure hope those social workers are lining up to respond to any trouble calls from schools.

Maybe they should concentrate their efforts on educating their students on police and how they are there to protect them.

Guessing that if students are threatened by a patch, they'd be horrified if there was any type of discussion, let alone police officers on site to discuss.

So? What's the problem?

The school has been trying to stop any political or perceive political statements being worn in school. "vote" shirts with the names of Black individuals who were killed by police are also banned.

The thin blue line is not the problem but it has been coerced by political campaigns. Thin Blue Line flag was flown at white supremacy rallies and that is not the Police's fault...

I think is just about taking this out of school for now...
