As I recall after 9-11 Bush had bipartisan support throughout the rout of the Taliban and running al Qaeda out of Afghanistan. Hell, he even had huge support for invading Iraq. It wasn't until the Opps Occupation went totally FUBR, combined with the discovery that most of the "Iraq is the greatest threat since Hitler" talking points were proven false that a majority of folks around the country began to question WTF was going on.
