'offset'? Right now there is no sense of urgency for federal politicians to get anything done with health care because they 'have theirs', and it isn't what the rest of us are getting.

Go one step further - Agree to single payer as long as EVERY American gets the EXACT same equal level of health care to include the least among us to the elitist politicians. The thought of that would scare the shite out of the politicians who see themselves as elitists who are above the masses.
