Guns allow the weak to fight off the strong. No other weapon allows this as effectively as firearms, and wherever you have the weak unarmed in the face of evil you have mass slaughter. And the Pope comes to our country and bitches about guns.....as he stands behind a protective grid of armed security.....

As a Catholic...I have to say this Pope is a fool.

Here we have the private security of all the Popes...the Swiss Guards...they do not just use prayer to protect their ward.....

Given your posting history – this post included – you're in no position to refer to anyone as a 'fool.'

Do your parent's know you are up past your bed time and on the computer again....?

And by the way...Sigs are not cheap guns...........the Pope is protected by the very best small arms.....

I make a motion to ask a "Holy Father" to insist his "children" abstain and just say "no" to the practice of "gun violence", instead of drugs.

they do....he should appeal to criminals to stop shooting people with guns.....

there are over 320 million guns in private hands in the United States and only 8,454 gun murders in the United States, mostly by gang members using illegally obtained guns...

American's aren't shooting each other, career criminals are......Americans are very responsible with their guns, the criminals aren't...and no, it isn't law abiding citizens who suddenly go crazy and just becaue they touch a gun they start to rape, murder and rob people.....almost all shooters have a history of violence and criminal activity.....

He should appeal to them...

Which "criminals" are you referring to?

The privateers or the ones with the shiny fasces of power at their disposal.

nothing but fallacy to work with; even St. Mike may not be able to defend you from St. Pete.

So does this mean no more statue bowing and rosary swinging for you?

"This Pope is a fool...complains about guns, again, as he is surrounded by armed security..."

This ignorance and stupidity of this is remarkable, but not unsurprising given the OP.

The Pope is referring to gun violence, not the warranted use of firearms for lawful self-defense.

Again, the only fool is the OP.

Pretty sure the Catholic church has been pro gun control before pope Francis. It aligns with their views on abortion and the death penalty, they are very strict about human life and against things that can end it. If you are a Catholic you should know this 2aguy.

Any if Clayton is a sock Jake the Fake Delegate?

Pope Francis is no fool.
Francis advocated against the U.S. selling arms that would end up in the hands of terrorists / criminals.

No, the libs in the church have long been anti-gun, but most of the Popes have been wise enough to take a pass when it came to comment publicly.

The Catechism on the Right of Self-Defense

"The most recent restatement of the Church’s teaching on self-defense is in the second edition of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, ## 2263-2264: 2263 The legitimate defense of persons and societies is not an exception to the prohibition against the murder of the innocent that constitutes intentional killing.

“The act of self-defense can have a double effect: the preservation of one’s own life; and the killing of the aggressor…. The one is intended, the other is not.” 2264 Love toward oneself remains a fundamental principle of morality. Therefore it is legitimate to insist on respect for one’s own right to life. Someone who defends his life is not guilty of murder even if he is forced to deal his aggressor a lethal blow: “If a man in self-defense uses more than necessary violence, it will be unlawful: whereas if he repels force with moderation, his defense will be lawful….

Nor is it necessary for salvation that a man omit the act of moderate self-defense to avoid killing the other man, since one is bound to take more care of one’s own life than of another’s.”

Libtards in the Vatican don't bother with the fine distinctions of what is bound and not bound, if they can get away with it.

Catholic Church should demonstrate courage of convictions on ‘gun control’

"Tommaso Di Ruzza, “the expert on disarmament and arms control at the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace” tells us “armed defense is something appropriate for nations, not for all individual citizens in a state where rule of law is effective.”

"So basically subjects need to disarm and give rulers whatever they want. Because you have to admit, “monopoly of violence” laws seem pretty effective at producing that result.

"Di Ruzza said that in "a democracy, where there is respect for institutions (of law), the citizen relinquishes his right to revenge onto the state," which, through its law enforcement and courts system, aims to mete out a fair and just punishment."

Then there is a patron saint of handguns.....

The St. Gabriel Possenti Society

This is also a good article on what the church actually teaches, and not just the opinion of some Vatican fagot.

IF the day ever does come that the church tells me to disarm, I will leave the church and tell them to shove their Bull up their collective asses.

Yeah, you mean things like Fast and Furious? Great recommendation worthy of a cleric....sheeeeessh, these guys need to stick to praying and chanting and mind their own damned business. In a time when 90% of the church simply ignores church teaching on contraceptives and divorce, one might think they should focus on their own problems without ginning up new ones.

Gun control does not mean complete disarmament.

History proves you wrong, and the comments of the Di Russa and others at the Vatican show that the Vatican wants eventual elimination of all privately owned guns, and the government the sole holder of guns at all.
