Thousands storm WWII at Mall; Whooooooooo hoooooooooooo!

Mrs. Palin handed out small American flags to bystanders and told the crowd to remember that “veterans allowed us to be here today.”

The rally was one of several protests scheduled for the Columbus Day holiday weekend, which began with several dozen truck drivers from across the country driving around the Beltway in what they called the “Truckers Ride for the Constitution.” The event fell far short of the thousands of participants organizers had promised, although organizers have hinted they might attempt to block Beltway traffic during the Monday morning commute.

By midday, about 200 people gathered in Lafayette Park across Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House although it wasn’t clear how many of them were tourists and how many were protesters. Some among the crowd held American flags and others held yellow “Don’t Tread on Me” flags and signs that said “Impeach Obama” and “Respect our vets.”

Yet another tinydancer lie. The crowd was around 200 people (not thousands) and they don't know how many tourists were mixed in with the group.

Mrs. Palin handed out her patriotic little flags.. She's such a doof.

That's awfully magnanimous of Sarah "The Quitter" Palin given she thinks that Paul Revere rode to warn the British!

Great to see. "Nothing can change if you don't get involved. The Communists/Progressives have seized power because they were allowed to. Too many have decided to do a lot of complaining, while doing very little doing. Ya gotta give the Communists/Progressives credit, they've been united and aggressive. Now it's time for Constitutional Conservatives to do the same.

Oh, please. right wingers are trying to rewrite history as it happens. "Nothing can change if you don't get involved"? How quintessentially ironic when it is the Republicans who are the ones responsible for shutting down the government!!!:cuckoo:

Good! It's about time!

One can only guess whose palm she read that gem off of.

As a Division Commander of The American Legion, I was in charge of a meeting today with over 30 Veterans. In some of the discussion, there were deleterious comments about Obama, but I was careful not to fan the flames. There were some Veterans who were democrats, but were good Veterans and fine people. The democrat Veterans were somewhat silent understandably. The A.L. has a policy of being apolitical, but these are sure trying times with the scumbucket Obama as CIC!

Wow, you announce yourself as a Division Commmander of the American Leagion, make it clear the A.L. is apolitical and proceed to call the President of the United States a scumbucket. Since you opened your comment with the announcement of your official capacity as a spokesperson for the American Legion, we will all assume that this is the official viewpoint of your legion post. Perhaps you will be man enough now to give us that post number and name so we can contact National and inform them that they have an asshole on the loose.

Rock on!

Cruz, Lee and Palin were part of the crowd. Check this out.

WASHINGTON - Thousands of people converged on the World War II Memorial on the National Mall on Sunday morning and tore down the barricades blocking it off, protesting the closure of the memorial during the federal government shutdown.

Beginning at about 9:30 a.m., Sens. Mike Lee, R-Utah, and Ted Cruz, R-Texas, as well as former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, were among the luminaries in a crowd that chanted "Tear down these walls!" and sang "God Bless America" as well as other patriotic songs as they entered the memorial, which has been closed since the government shutdown that began Oct. 1.

Tractor-trailers headed down 17th Street toward the Mall, blaring their horns. The Metropolitan Police Department blocked off the street, prompting the crowd to head up the street, shouting at the police to move their vehicles.

Sad to see how many of you have totally missed the point of actions of the veterans.

We like the vets, it's your hero Palin using them that we can't stand. She's a pig.

This was never about Palin hell as far as I know no one even interviewed her it was and is about the disrespectful treatment of the veterans trying to use the fact that Palin happened to be there to distract from this are the actions of a true pig.

There was no disrespect of the vets, there were people there who had a job to do. You all want that memorial open? Go talk to House Repubs and have them open government. It only takes a minute.

Conservatives politicized the event ... what a shame ...

LOL This is thousands of people storming the barricades?

And blaming Obama? It is the Republicans who shut down the government. This is a group of misinformed, partisan people. A small, pathetic number of people who are using the veterans to politicize an issue unrelated to the military or to veterans.

I'm looking at photo's and video's and I see lots of civilians. Where are all the vets? It looks like they are all bunched up behind the politicians for the photo op. Where are the fatiques and boonie hats? Where are the vets marching in a well spaced column of two's counting cadence. This does not look like any march or demonstration by veterans that has ever occured. How many vets where actually there? Was it mostly Palin and Cruz supporters? Was this just another TP hoax of a demonstration?
