I wondered why Kiefer Sutherland was in this movie, with a Japanese and British cast, but then realized the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders are the unit portrayed, so it makes sense he has a familiar connection somehow. The movie is a morality tale, and is free on Prime Video, and after a slow start, it picks up momentum for a very powerful ending. Based on the real life experience of Ernest Gordon. These men built the Bridge on the River Kwai.
