Toxins in water under Tennessee power plant causing alarm

Memphis residents are as proud of their sweet-tasting water as their barbecue and blues. The water – drawn from the Memphis Sand aquifer beneath this Tennessee city – is so revered that a city utility called it a “community treasure” in an online report on its cleanliness. So alarms went off after state environmental officials and the Tennessee Valley Authority revealed this week that high levels of arsenic and lead had been found in groundwater beneath the coal-fired Allen Fossil

Some will see it and say oh well not my problem that's there well news flash all of our water is tainted with lead , etc. Some states are just hiding it better than others and until groups rise up and start checking it , your water will keep being tainted.

The people of Tennessee surely have an environmental quality agency that can deal with this and other issues.

Can the Authority deal with the future cancer cluster that will almost certainly follow?
Once this poison is in the ground-water, there is no way to get it back, or control where it goes. Like Fukushima, once you've shit the bed, you gotta live with it.

It's amazing how many just keep right on moving never paying attention to the poision they drink. Just like where was it Michigan. it took how many deaths and illness before ppl took action. It took a Doctor who risked her career and her life to come foward and spill the beans.

yet the general population just puts their trust and faith into this fkd up Gov. thinking anything they eat and drink is just oh so safe, and the Gov. wouldn't pass things that would harm us. Jesus what does it take to get ppl off the gawd dam gov. tit.
