Literally brought tears to my eyes.
Indianapolis teen and little brother return to park where they were viciously beaten
An Indianapolis teenager and her brother returned to Brookside Park Saturday, the same park where they were viciously beaten a week ago. The incident, which was captured on cell phone video, quickly went viral.
“Today is a starting point for all of us to come together,” the crowd gathered was told.
Unlike a week ago, this time Barbara Snelson and her brother were surrounded by love.
“It’s just nice to know we have all these people behind our back,” she said.
A 14-year-old girl was arrested and charged with multiple felonies for the attack. Snelson said during the attack she was thinking of only one thing: her brother.
“Him being there,” she said. “I wanted him out of there. He had nothing to do with this, yet he’s the one that got hurt. He don’t even know them. He don’t go to our school. He’s five years old.”
Tammy Pinegar organized Saturday’s event. She doesn’t know the family, but lives near the park, and wanted to community to come together.
