Imo his insinuations about Obama and overall racial divisiveness from last week have pretty much poisoned the well for him here, and his only real hope is tacking back to middle as a sort of deal maker who can get the NRA on board with putting people on the no fly list on the no buy guns list. Supposedly, his campaign is giving him talking points and a prepared text. The way this is supposed to work is that media gets told what the candidate's going to stress today (or this week), and then the media's job is easy as it reports a well received speech

he WAS talking about US SOLDIERS....and he may be right....he just doesn't go in to detail, nor truly separate the bad guys from the good guys and lumps them together like with all groups or classes or ethnicity or race that have SOME bad apples, he seems to vilify the entire group instead of the bad guys individually.

Troops were selling the U.S. military’s fuel to Afghan locals on the side, and pocketing the proceeds.

She began an affair with a civilian, Jonathan Hightower, who worked for a Pentagon contractor that distributed fuel from Fenty, and one day in March 2010 he told her about “this thing going on” at other U.S. military bases around Afghanistan, she recalled in a recent telephone interview.

Troops were selling the U.S. military’s fuel to Afghan locals on the side, and pocketing the proceeds. When Hightower suggested they start doing the same, Charboneau said, she agreed.

In so doing, Charboneau contributed to thefts by U.S. military personnel of at least $15 million worth of fuel since the start of the U.S. war in Afghanistan. And eventually she became one of at least 115 enlisted personnel and military officers convicted since 2005 of committing theft, bribery, and contract-rigging crimes valued at $52 million during their deployments in Afghanistan and Iraq, according to a comprehensive tally of court records by the Center for Public Integrity.

In this speech, he apparently still feels that way. He is preluding his invasion in his speech. He mocks Iraq. He mocks Iraq's sovereignty. As he mocks Iraq, he says, "America First!" to cheers from the crowd.

It's weird. He whines about the money spent invading the Middle East, but he is planning on doing the same thing! And just like Bush, he claims he will pay for it with oil profits! He sounds just like Cindy Sheehan with calls for impeaching Bush. He claims in his Greensboro speech that he said before the invasion (he actually didn't) that we would be sucked into a quagmire, and then he gloats that the invasion led to the rise of ISIS. He didn't actually say that shit until long after the war had started and its unpopularity had made it safe for weaseling flip flopping demagogues to change their tune and come out against the war.

But here's the thing.

Iraq is right now kicking ISIS's ass. Instead of mocking them, we should be supporting them any way we can.

Bingo. I'm not so sure that Iraq's military is doing all that well, but yeah Isis is losing.

There's a damn good reason we don't want to give Iraq anymore military hardware (they lose it), but whether or not it would be a good idea, I would think both campaigns would be saying something about "we could step up our support to led more US artillery support without inevitably getting back into a qwagmire and help our muslim (and Persian btw) allies. We did at one time have the BEST, MOST STUPENDOUS, HUGELY SUCCSSFUL WINNINGIST artillery.
