Then reneged when he started to fail

USFL was a promising Spring Football League with many future HOF players. Trump took over the NJ Generals and bullied the other owners to switch to the Fall and sue the NFL as a monopoly. His real intent was to bankrupt the league and have the NFL accept his NJ Generals into the league as a settlement of the suit
