Do you understand the concept of OVERHEAD? Soldiers' jobs are basically to BE PREPARED to do something when the time comes. They keep their equipment, guns and vehicles operable, they go through drills, they keep themselves in good physical condition, but they do not produce any product or valuable "service" that generates revenue for the government (taxpayer). Basically, we pay them to "do" nothing.

So sending them someplace as a show of force costs nothing. If they were not at the border, they would be someplace else, doing nothing but remaining prepared for national defense, when needed. This display costs approximately zero. Maybe a little gasoline, but maybe not. They might be doing maneuvers otherwise that would also consume gas.

It would be different if DoD were calling up soldiers who would otherwise be inactive and not paid. Then, there would be a cost. But as this thing is unfolding the cost is negligible.

The troops get paid no matter where they are stationed. Infrastructure costs will obviously be increased but that is irrelevant when you consider the constitutional MANDATE of the president and our military.

That will be far cheaper than allowing 10,000 illegal aliens into the country.

Cost per alien = $70,000. Total cost = 10.000 x 70,000 = $700,000,000.

That doesn't even include the cost of lowered wages and native born Americans displaced from good paying jobs. Furthermore, there is also the cost of all the additional aliens emboldened to cross our borders because we did nothing to stop these current invaders.
