We gave the debate stage to an unserious person in 2015 and look what happened.

At this time Trump is facing current or several former governors, a US senator as well as other not so serious people.

Trump has reason to debate but doesn't need to.

I do agree. I think Trump should debate, wish he would however I can see strategic reasons not to do so as well. I could easily see a moderator trying to lead and bait him into saying something liberal prosecutors will try to use as "evidence" ...or even try to create a new charge based on something Trump says.

I think it is a serious mistake spiritually and strategically to skip the debates. He might ensure himself the GOP nomination, but if he wants to appeal to the country to win in 2024, he should debate. Even when he lost in 2020 he grabbed 75 million votes.

He won't lose the nomination by debating, he could cost himself by not doing so however. Both he and Biden should be debating.

His reasons for not debating is there's nothing to gain.
Biden's is that Kennedy and Williamson are nut jobs and the last time we gave the debate stage to a nutjob we ended up with Trump.
