This is amusing...

How AGW May Kill the Windresource Harvesting Industry - National/World News

A lack of wind is making the US clean energy sector sweat, with consequences for investors from yield-hungry pensioners to Goldman Sachs.

Electricity generated by US wind farms fell 6 per cent in the first half of the year even as the nation expanded wind generation capacity by 9 per cent, Energy Information Administration records show.

The reason was some of the softest air currents in 40 years, cutting power sales from wind farms to utilities. The feeble breezes come as the White House is promoting renewable energy, including wind, as part of its Clean Power Plan to counter greenhouse gas emissions.

Giant wind turbines in Palm Springs, California.
"We never anticipated a drop-off in the wind resource as we have witnessed over the past six months," David Crane, chief executive of power producer NRG Energy, told analysts last month.

However, solar is doing better than ever. And wind will come back. A good many people in Texas and Oklahoma are betting big money on that. Given the storms we have had in the latter part of this year, I think that has already occurred.

Excuses Excuses Excuses. Cant' deliver wind to a contract schedule. They lie about the potential output and then they blame the gods when the wind don't blow.

My bet is you don't have to go far back in "wind history" to find a year like this.. Depending of course on WHERE you are. You know that GLOBAL warming is only applicable to your neighborhood when something doesn't go your way.

Like politicos blaming the war in Syria on Global Warming.
(wont mention any names)

Yeah --- good plan. Generate electricity during storms. And depend on having storms more often.

Got it...

As the planet nears equilibrium or passes EQ on its way to cooling there will be a few years of diminished wind patterns and speeds globally.

Who were the engineers that could not foresee this happening on a rather predictable, cyclical times scale and frequency? A 6% shift is normal, natural variation for the earth.

Does anyone in the wind energy buisness use their brains?

Probably rejects who originally built the mirror on the Hubble
