Awesome program! Something to build character( as one kid said) and obviously self esteem and pride.

Wish I had audio. In high school our shop teacher would take us dumpster diveing for old bikes and we would fix them up, paint them, and give them out at Christmas.

It is basically a six week workshop for middle and high school kids where...they get to pick out a bike and spend the next 6 weeks rebuilding it from the ground up. Several of these kids are homeless and the bike is their only means of transportation to get to school and/or jobs and interviews. Several of the younger kids talked about being able to then help fix their friends bikes and how that make them proud.

Kinda cool.
