Walmart says tax bill allowed raise hikes

The Real Reason Walmart Raised Its Minimum Wage

but according to the liberal media, Democrats are the REAL behind the scenes heroes
Really? What did they say about the 54000 layoffs?
That they were switching most of the Sams stores to distribution centers for Walmart's online services. Some of those people laid off are likely to get their jobs back. Amazon is killing physical store sales, but that's how capitalism works adapt or go out of business.

It's not Walmart's responsibility to keep anybody off of welfare. Where did you leftists get this belief that businesses open up as a social obligation?

So, moron, do you APPLAUD tax breaks for the Waltons??....
I though you idiots wanted the tax breaks to "stimulate" the economy for ALL workers and not to subsidize the Waltons billions??..........LOL
The government is not giving the Waltons anything they are letting them keep more of their own money.

Weren't you one of the morons who claimed that the 805 of tax breaks that are going to conglomerates were NEEDED to boost the economy, create jobs and raise wages????

What the FUCK HAPPENED???

No I'm one of those guys who believes the government does not have an automatic right to whatever amount of yours, mine or companies pay/profits.

The tax cuts are for everybody. The last available tax recording for Walmart was 20114, and they paid 6.2 billion dollars in taxes for that year alone. Certainly it makes sense that if we are going to lower taxes, the people that pay the most should get the most out of a tax cut.

Like Walmart couldn’t afford that before with all of their profits. Conservatives are such suckers

If you knew anything about business you'd realize that profit is less a factor than growth. Walmart had a less than 3% growth since last year so it's not all that impressive and probably the reason they started closing down less performing stores.

It's difficult to attract investors with a 3% growth especially during an economy like we have today.
Oh no. The Waltons are poor? :(

Nope, but they have a successful business model that they need to keep up if they are going to continue their success.

Given the fact that Walmart has 1.4 million employees in the US alone, that one dollar an hour raise means they are paying out an additional 1.4 million dollars for each hour their employees work. Using an 8 hour day as a standard, that means Walmart is paying out over 11 million dollars a day in additional pay alone. And let's not forget all the other associated costs when an employer gives you a raise.

That's a nice chunk of change out of their growth which is pretty pathetic right now. 75 million a week is nothing to sneeze at even for a huge company like Walmart.

It does not matter if they know. It is still the government that qualifies people for aid not Walmart. End of story and your lying thread.

What a waste of cyber space.....

NOW, its the government's "fault" for qualifying people for food stamps ALTHOUGH they work full time for Walmart and make so fucking little that taxpayers have to subsidize their meager salaries...

Do you fuck heads realize that the Waltons LAUGH at morons like you that actually defend them???

Each of the 4 Waltons....who never worked a day in their miserable lives is worth $45 BILLION and don't give a fucking dime to charity and rely on idiots like right wing taxpayers to augment their workers.
It isn't Walmart's fault.

Only if you are a fucking idiot & do not know why the personal tax cuts were enacted.

If you cut taxes to spur the economy, you give it to those most likely to spend it.

For example, if we were to temporarily cut taxes in half for the bottom two brackets, everyone would get a tax cut. Those that make under 100K wold likely spend that tax cut.

For the wealthy, they too would get that cut on their first $72K & we would not be sending tens of millions to people who would not spend all of it, AKA a waste of money with little stimulus action.

Walmart did not say they gave all employees that raise.
Nice try.

What part of the indicators of our economy is not stimulated?

If I give people making under $100K a tax cut, most of it will be spent in the economy increasing demand, etc.

Give a POS like Trump 4o million, how much is he going to spend in the economy buying products? Not much.

That is the point.

Look at how all the regressive scum bags HATE Americans being more prosperous.
