We need more than two viable political parties

We need more than two viable political parties. The Republican party has been hijacked by Trumpism. The far left is attempting to take over the Democratic party.
I suggest the Trump cult start their own political party and the far left start their own party. Both groups are absolute idiots. What if both idiot groups came together to form one party; The Ultra-Idiot Party.
How has our wonderful country created these disgusting groups of people.
You don't need to tell me. I voted for Ross Perot in 1992 and Ralph Nader in '96 and 2000, and Jill Stein in 2016. Trump in 2020.

Trump
Next best thing to a third party president.

I voted for Nader in 2000 too. I lived in a red state so I knew my vote would be meaningless so I went "umma cast a protest vote".

Not real satisfying, is it.

We need more independence and less drinking drugging and partying.

That doesn't even make sense. Ralph Nader made some horrible decisions for us over our head against our will by requiring "air bags" and other unreliable plastic safety junk in cars and numerous other requirements for consumer equipment. Ross Perot would have at least respected our right to make our own decisions for ourselves without excessive government interference.

It's just that the raw power to force or compel us to do things we do not want to do, and to prohibit or bar us from doing things that we do want to do, is worth too much money to the elite 1%. They got rich by extorting us by heavy-handed Democratic Party policies.

My wife voted for Libertarian Ricky Dale Harrington against Tom Cotton for Arkansas Senator. :auiqs.jpg:

Why do those pics look like one guy was stretched upward and the other was squnched down?

If I didn't know their names I'd call 'em "Vertical" and "Horizontal".

That is an eclectic set of presidential choices.

There are of course two possible reasons to vote 3P --- (a) you actually want that 3P candy to win, or (b) you're throwing a monkey wrench into the works of the Duopoly as a protest.

Pretty sure the poster was going for (b), same as I did.

Libertarian
Republican ladies who went in for an abortion and turned left. They can't tell me that's not just another word for liberal. Just gotta have that single-payer socialized healthcare system in place for all that life-ruining "choice" they demand against the will of their loved ones.

The establishment Republicans are ready to sell out the US again and US citizens won't go for it.
I don't know why you care since your portfolio didn't collapse.

Actually, there are all kinds of viable Liberal Parties out there, from the Worker's World, to the Socialist Labor , Socialist Workers, Progressive Labor, American Nazi, Green, Libertarian, etc.

As far as President Trump is concerned , he's a registered Republican. Those in the party who don't like his leadership , should form their own party or try to take over the GOP.

I am all for changing to a Parliamentary system. It fosters compromise, and would prevent Republicans from trying again to turn us into a dictatorship.

How does a parliamentary system "foster compromise"? If someone gets the majority, they just plow their whole agenda through if they are smart.

The American system actually fosters compromise. The various states, and branches of government makes extreme policies a lot harder to get through.

We don't have a Parliamentary-style legislature. A scatter of more than two viable parties would mean no party could get clear majority in Congress.

This would force the formation of coalitions of parties, effectively creating effectively a two-party system, the coalition in power and the opposition coalition.
Of course
They can't get it.
What you can't get is that the coalitions change depending on circumstances.

Perhaps Ardern is dumb.

Labour leader Jacinda Ardern, her deputy Kelvin Davis and Green co-leaders Marama Davidson and James Shaw have formally signed their governing deal.
The agreement gives the Greens ministerial portfolios, but carries enhanced provisions allowing the Greens to agree to disagree with Labour.
A new innovation in this agreement is that even in portfolios held by the Greens, Green Ministers are allowed to note that the party disagrees with the Government position.
Davidson said the Greens and Labour “agree to agree to disagree”.

I don't know, the extremist segregation policy was successfully put through for centuries.
