Went metal detecting and found this....

What is it. Last time I posted an object here found out it was silver so I saved it in the silver jar.
But what's this. It hit pretty high on the number scale. So even though it's gold in color I think it's copper
Its thin and pretty much hollow on the back side
Don't let the size deceive you. The diameter is in the penny range

I am just guessing since I can not see it in person. Looks like a brass drawer pull from the early twenties. Just a guess as there is no scale and not much other then looks to go on.

Well, it's obviously a decoration of some sort--could have been on clothing or inlay on a box, or on a piece of jewelry. It looks pretty heavily tarnished.

I guessed button, at first, too, but it would have a shank on the back if it were.

You say it's the size of a penny and thin. It may be a piece of Indian jewelry. If you look on ebay you'll see similar snake patterns in rings and bracelets.
