The British Royal Family is about to have its first black member.
As The Guardian noted, "When Meghan weds Harry, Britain’s relationship with race will change for ever"
Now I haven't much to say about the couple and their nuptials. I wish them well, as I would any other couple.
FWIW, the marriage will mark the second time someone in direct succession (Prince Harry is sixth in line) for the British throne will wed an American, thus a commoner, if you will. Wallis Simpson was the first, and she married the Prince of Wales, nee King of England. Ms. Simpson was not a black woman.
