A foreign head of state praising the US?
Bahamian prime minister credits US with 'assisting us with all of our needs'
Bahamian Prime Minister Hubert Minnis on Thursday night praised the U.S. for "assisting us with all of our needs" after the islands were struck by Hurricane Dorian. Minnis said U.S. aid has likely helped to lower the storm's death toll.
"From day one, the United States was in our territory assisting us with all of our needs. Had it not been for the United States we would not have been advanced this far in the entire process," Minnis said in a CNN interview.
