What's with the low oil prices?

When is the last time Arabs did what we wanted them to do?

The last time their interests and our interests coincided.

Iran claims they are the rightful Caliphate and should control Mecca. This doesn't make them real popular with the Saudis.

The Saudis are trying to cut the balls off of Iran with low oil prices, and it's working. They aren't doing this as a favor to Americans, but to serve their own interests.

finally, someone can see the picture AND the frame .. the rest of the oil dolts are wearing blindfolds.

Thanks for the link. It was informative but not mind changing.

We're going to have to continue to agree to disagree on this one.
Yeah it's an interesting topic. One could argue that titan is teeming with life and that's the reason for all the various types of hydro carbons. Which makes more sense? Hydrocarbons are only the result of biotic means, or hydrocarbons are the result of biotic and abiotic means? Odd that we'll probably have to send a spacecraft to saturn to find out.

Really there's just no reason hydro carbons can't be generated by other means. We as a people seem to have problems with chicken / egg type questions. Carbon is abundant. The stars created the carbon not life... We all agree that carbon under heat and pressure forms minerals (graphite, dimonds, ... ) Life is good at accumulating carbon into pockets, yes. But that does not mean that hydrocarbons are only a result of biotic mechanisms.

It literally rains oil on the moon titan.

Not quite. Titan contains liquid propane, ethane, and methane. But even if it did have oil, that's Titan. We have no feasible means of harvesting anything from Titan, and we likely will not for hundreds of years, if ever.

Where do you think it comes from on titan? Dead dinosaurs flew to saturn?

I'm just quoting this part to underscore how much of a fucking idiot you are.
Oh ..yeah cause oil isn't a hydrocarbon... rolls eyes... what a dumb ass.

I see that you lack an education on this entire matter.

A "hydrocarbon" is an organic compound that is composed entirely of carbon and hydrogen atoms. Methane is a hydrocarbon. Oil is not a hydrocarbon. It is a mixture of hydrocarbons and other organic compounds. The refinement of oil extracts usable hydrocarbons.

Titan does not have oil. Titan has methane (one carbon), ethane (two carbons), and propane (three carbons). I.E. Titan has natural gas.

And the dino joke... yeah it was a joke.

I'll agree your knowledge and intelligence is a joke.
You heard it here folks add some mud to a mixture of hydrocarbons and the mix is no longer a hydrocarbon. What a nimrod!

So you've been to titan? You have evidence that the "hydrocarbons" on titan have somehow managed to not be mixed together and with mud?

I'll agree you are a POS moron.

Isn't methane produced through biological action?
methane is produced through biotic and abioic processes

And idiot conservatives.

OPEC is trying to drive production in the U.S. down by making it unprofitable, the bunch of dumb asses don't seem to realize the U.S. will come roaring right back when prices increase.

By the way idiot liberals were wrong again, only 6 years ago they claimed it would be 10 or 15 years before an increase in oil production would lower the price of gas. Or they were lying again its getting hard to tell anymore with that lot.

OMG oil is no where near $50. The question as usual is why are moron Amurikans with short memory syndrome not bothered by the fact that gas is in the $2.50s and not in the $1.70s like it should be at $60 a barrel? And why do SUV sales always increase by double digits just because gas went down a little?

Price incentives.

Do you think OPEC and the oil cartels are doing this just to hurt franking?

It's Putin....PERIOD. Oil AND gasoline prices are controlled by the market. The market is controlled by a small group of individuals and groups of individuals. Even with fracking, there is plenty of money to be made in a fixed market.

Besides, fracking is going to become more difficult when a catastrophic event happens.

every investor in the global economy is a small group of individuals ?

yeah, that's pretty hard to prove alright.
