When republicans say "government needs to get out of the way" of job creation, what do they mean?

Regulations? Well we need those. Which regulations are unnecessary? Be specific.

Taxes? Yeah we need those too. Revenue is what pays the government's expenses. Are republicans aware that the debt under Obama is primarily because of defense spending and extending Bush's tax cuts? What further tax cuts are needed and why?

Anything else? What are some specific policies that are inhibiting job growth?

I feel like repubs are always short on giving specifics on these sort of issues.

We took our country back from the failed "you didn't build that!" experiment.

ObamaCare is unnecessary, Dodd Frank is unnecessary

When there is greater opportunity for profit on Wall Street than Main Street, it's time for the government to get out of the way.

With a decades old archaic and meaningless ban on crude exports still in force, it's time for government to get out of the way.

allow the billions of corporate profits sitting in foreign banks to be brought back and spent in this country tax free.

we are the only country that taxes corporate profits made in foreign countries.

The answers yuou seek have been voiced time and time again, its just partisan like yourself have their childish fingers in in their ears. Entitlements are always ignored ,question who received the largest tax break in 2003 who was that?

Regulations are needed, regulations made by lawyers and not the people being regulated are not.

A regulatory agency is needed, what is not needed is 5 layers of regulatory agencies at all levels. One agency, one level, and maybe an umbrella org at a higher level to standardize things, but with no enforcement ability.

There are over 79,000 pages in the Federal Register.
Please list each page we have to keep, with a brief paragraph explaining why.

Actually, you're thinking of the Code of Federal Regulations.

Federal corporate income tax should be abolished. Double-taxation is counterproductive and it puts too much business focus on avoiding taxes instead of promoting commerce. If income is to be taxed, it should be taxed at the individual level.

Sarbanes-Oxley and Dodd-Frank should be repealed. Neither of those laws provide any additional safety or protection because they are too easy to manipulate and they increase costs and overhead for businesses not doing anything wrong in the first place.

FDIC stress tests (from Dodd-Frank) are stifling small business lending. Small banks are micromanaged to the extent that they cannot properly service demand in their own markets due to the FDIC putting unreasonable constraints on risk. While a small business is more likely to default on a loan due to pure statistics, the actual collection of payment on a bad loan is much lower from a subsidiary of a large conglomerate. Small business loans almost always have a personal guarantee clause in the loan which transfers the obligation to the owners who then usually pay the loan. Subsidiaries of large businesses have the resources to fight payment of the loan and do not have personal guarantees in their contracts. The FDIC treats loans to subsidiaries are large enterprises as less risky than small business loans.

Guy, the Federal Register is a daily published journal of the federal government. Today's edition is 400 pages. Tomorrow, who knows? Today's edition includes 78 notices, 6 proposed rules, 13 rules, 5 Presidential documents, and 2 "significant" documents. Here is one of those notices:

The Department of Agriculture has submitted the following information collection requirement(s) to Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review and clearance under the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, Public Law 104-13. Comments regarding (a) whether the collection of information is necessary for the proper performance of the functions of the agency, including whether the information will have practical utility; (b) the accuracy of the agency's estimate of burden including the validity of the methodology and assumptions used; (c) ways to enhance the quality, utility and clarity of the information to be collected; (d) ways to minimize the burden of the collection of information on those who are to respond, including through the use of appropriate automated, electronic, mechanical, or other technological collection techniques or other forms of information technology should be addressed to: Desk Officer for Agriculture, Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, Office of Management and Budget, New Executive Office Building, 725—17th Street NW., Washington, DC 20502. Commenters are encouraged to submit their comments to OMB via email to: [email protected] or fax (202) 395-5806 and to Departmental Clearance Office, USDA, OCIO, Mail Stop 7602, Washington, DC 20250-7602. Comments regarding these information collections are best assured of having their full effect if received within 30 days of this notification. Copies of the submission(s) may be obtained by calling (202) 720-8681.Show citation box

An agency may not conduct or sponsor a collection of information unless the collection of information displays a currently valid OMB control number and the agency informs potential persons who are to respond to the collection of information that such persons are not required to respond to the collection of information unless it displays a currently valid OMB control number.

As you can see, it has absolutely nothing to do with imposing regulations on businesses of any kind. The Notices section "contains non-rulemaking documents that are applicable to the general public and named parties. These documents include notices of public meetings, hearings, investigations, grants and funding, environmental impact statements, information collections, statements of organization and functions, delegations, and other announcements of public interest."

Here are some more examples...

RIGZONE - Energy Seen Getting Biggest Boost From Republican Senate

NEW YORK, Nov 5 (Reuters) - While the Republican Party won't assume its Senate majority until January, U.S. stock investors are already betting the new congressional makeup could lead to faster action on pipelines and trade agreements, sending energy shares higher on Wednesday.

and...

The S&P Energy sector rose 1.5 percent on hopes Republican control of the Senate will lead to reforms in crude and natural gas export laws, as well as motivate the Obama administration to include those energy exports in new, or broader, trade agreements.

ABOUT CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS
[TBODY] [/TBODY]
The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) annual edition is the codification of the general and permanent rules published in the Federal Register by the departments and agencies of the Federal Government. It is divided into 50 titles that represent broad areas subject to Federal regulation. The 50 subject matter titles contain one or more individual volumes, which are updated once each calendar year, on a staggered basis. The annual update cycle is as follows: titles 1-16 are revised as of January 1; titles 17-27 are revised as of April 1; titles 28-41 are revised as of July 1, and titles 42-50 are revised as of October 1. Each title is divided into chapters, which usually bear the name of the issuing agency. Each chapter is further subdivided into parts that cover specific regulatory areas. Large parts may be subdivided into subparts. All parts are organized in sections, and most citations to the CFR refer to material at the section level.

Nothing, it means NOTHING.

The US became a gargantuan welfare/warfare police state with BI-partisan support.

I'm not sure, but I tried to download what I thought was a copy, which turned out to be .zip of XML formatting. The extracted folder ended up being 516 Mb, so pretty big.

I had the same experience and came to the same conclusion. Much too big!

Why should corporations be exempt from income taxes? Aren't they people too? If you and I have to pay, shouldn't GE?

It means they are directing their anger towards govt with unspecified reasoning or solutions. Which is the best sort of anger. You see it on Fox a lot.

They'll go something like "Obama said it will save you money...yeah right, if you believe that"
