i have never been there …
My Great Grandfather was a Prussian Baron towards the end of the Prussian Empire when changes in governmental policy took power from the hands of individuals and unified it under a central government, Prussia itself being absorbed mostly by Germany and part by Poland I believe.
His son came to America somewhere around 1885 and he was my grandfather.
