It seems pretty stupid to me as in this example when two 3-letter words become 4-letter words instead. I'm sure some folks think it's cool or something but to me they're idiots.

I've never understood why certain words are misspelled either. Abbreviations like IMO and TMI for example are okay, but if you are going to use a certain word, spell it right.
